We sat in Denny's which was open 24 hours, and while Faith and Charlie were already eating, I had the paper with all the possible suspects.

"Girl will you put that away. We don't need everyone knowing we're looking for someone." Faith said in a whisper. "If I stop now, I'll stop later, and won't get it done. Let me observe." I said without taking my eyes off the paper.

"Some of these people couldn't have possibly killed those people." I say. "The ones you least expect are usually the ones that get away with it." Charlie said to me.

"How are we going to chose 2 out of the 50+ people we have here? This is merely impossible." I said. "Is there anything else we can use to narrow down who could have possibly done it?" Faith asked.

I thought about it, and it came to me. "There's a phone in the house and the killer made a phone call." I said with a snap. "How do you know that?" Charlie asked. "I went to go check a few months ago." "You mean you broke inside the house without permission?" Faith asked who was in shock. "Yeah. I had to find a clue somewhere."

There was a silence at the table. "But how are we going to trace down the number?" Faith asked. "Do what a normal person does. Go to their phone company, put the number of the house, and ask for all of the data from phone calls or text messages sent or received from the phone."

Faith looked at him like he was crazy. "Yeah. Like we know how to do that shit, Einstein." "But it's a good plan." I waved my index finger. "When you guys go back to work, find the data and try and find what phone company the Jones' were with. Send it to me, and I will take it from there." I say.

"Sounds like a plan. Well, let's get on home. I'm tired." "But I haven't finished my pancakes..." Charlie whined. "Awww." Faith pouted.  "Shove it down your throat." Faith said. Charlie gave Faith a dirty look and gave her the finger. We all dropped some money in the center of the table as the tip.

"Thanks for the ride Faith." I say to Faith as I closed the car door. "You're welcome baby girl. I'll talk to you later. Tell Bruno I said hi." She said. "I will. Drive safe."

I walked to the front door and unlocked it. I quickly walked inside and put my key and bag on the table. I knew Bruno was here since his car was parked outside, but I didn't know where he was.

He had to be sleeping, since it was about midnight. I slowly and quietly walked to my room, and prepared to change in my pajamas. I heard shuffling but Bruno was no where in sight. I was scared, but if the killers were in my house, they must forget I'm strapped. I went into my drawer and pulled out my pistol. I held it to my side and followed the noise.

The noise was coming from the bathroom which was in my bedroom. I crept to the door and heard groans. "Who's in there?" I shouted. "Babe, please stop yelling. It's me..." Bruno said from inside the bathroom. "Shit." I quickly put my pistol back in the drawer before Bruno came back out.

Right when I closed the drawer, Bruno walked out of the bathroom in only his boxers. "What are you yelling for, girl?" Bruno seemed as if he came out of his sleep to use the restroom. "Sorry." I say out of breath. "...you scared me." I said.

With his hoarse, raspy voice, he asked, "You didn't see my car outside?" "I did...I just...I don't know." Bruno was beginning to become more attentive, more awake than before. "Are you okay?" He asked. "Yeah, I'm fine." I wanted to tell him that I'm secretly opening back up the case, but I didn't want a repeat of France, where he shut that part of me out.

"How's Faith and Charlie?" He asked. "They're fine. Just giving me the scoop at the headquarters..." I blurted out. "Of course." Bruno sat back in my bed.

I began to strip to change into my pajamas. "Well, we've been finding more evidence, we may just find out who killed those people..." I said with a sense of joy. "Didn't you already establish that they're from the FBI. Just start investigating the whole department. Make it simple." Bruno said. "Babe, it's not that easy. When they find out that there's an investigation, they'll manipulate it. You have to catch them when they least expect it." I said. "Well if the case is closed then leave it closed. I mean, they locked it up for a reason, didn't they?" He asked. "Just because it's closed doesn't mean that justice shouldn't be found, Bruno."

"You know Genevieve...I wonder sometimes; if it came between me and a case, what would you choose?" Bruno sat up. "Bruno, that's not even fair, and you know that." I said. "You'd choose your job over me..." Bruno came to the conclusion. "You know, it's funny. I take you out to dinner, bought you a ring, took you to France for God sake, nothing you had to pay for, and you'd rather take some stupid, fucking case over me?" Bruno raised his voice.

"So all of this money I spend on you, is just going down the drain? You're fucking me for money...aren't you?" He asked. "You're using me?!" Bruno shouted. "I'M SAVING YOU!" I shouted. I was frustrated that Bruno even came down to this conclusion.

"Those killers, have come to my house..." I tried to hold my tears in. 'Tried rape me. They've come on the job when I worked overtime, and threatened me..." I then began to whisper. "They're watching us. Our every move. They recorded us having sex...they've recorded us sleeping, watching tv, cooking, everything." I said. "They've been watching us, the day we met." I added.

"I'm not putting this case to rest because if they find out that I identified them...they're going to kill me, and they're going to kill you too. So if you think I'm having sex with you for the money, keep thinking that, but your life is worth so much to me...if I lost you Bruno...I lose everything." I said.

"Just let me do this."
