June 10, 2014

Working over time tonight was not my favorite thing to do. It was 11:24 at night, and I get off at 11:30. Everyone in the office was gone, but security was on the first floor. I wasn't scared, I just hated being here at this time. It's stupid.

When the clock finally hit 11:30, I packed all my things and headed out. I grabbed my keys to lock my office door. When I opened the door to get out of the main office, I was in for an unexpected welcome.

My body was forced back inside, and onto the ground. I hit my head on the floor, and everything was blurry. "Pick her up." One out of the two men said. One picked me up by the collar of my blazer, and pinned me to the wall. One closed the door, and locked it.

These men had all black attire on and even a black ski mask to hide their identity and their voices were of a European accent, that I counldn't identify. "What do you want from me?" I asked. "It's not what we want, it's what you need." The man who had me pinned against the wall said. "And what is that?" I asked with a tremble in my voice.

The second man wrapped his hand around my neck. This scared me. "This is a warning...Genevieve." They knew my name, how did they know my name?

"How do you know me?" One began to laugh. "No need to worry about that. Take it as a compliment, baby." He said. The other came and whispered in my ear, "Just know, you're being watched. Every move you make, we see it. When you're at work, when you're at lunch. Even when..." He began to lick my cheek in a seductive way, "...you're naked. Baby you're special, and we have to keep a close eye on you."

They let go of my neck, and took me off of the wall. "This is your warning, and one wrong move, will get you terminated." One said. "Have a nice night, Genevieve." The other said, and they both ran out of the office.

I was stuck in awe.

Tell the chief. He won't listen

Tell Faith and Charlie. What could they possibly do?

Call the police. I am the police.

Quit your job. Never.

I will never let a threat be the cause of ending my life long love of a career that I built myself upon.

I walked out of the office with my head up high and chest up. I rode the elevator down the first floor and the officer wasn't even there. That's how those mongrels got into the building so easily. I walked to my car and couldn't help but just cry to myself. Being assaulted twice on the job, and I feel that the only one who has my back...is myself.

While driving home, I came to the thought, that the attire of these men sounded familiar. It was something Bruno told me when I first put him under questioning.

I felt rude to call him at this time of the night, but I needed answers. I'm FBI, I have the right. But then again, I felt bad, because I haven't spoken to him in a couple of days on a personal note.

I dialed his number on my phone and called him. "Hello?" He answered. "Hey Bruno...it's Genevieve." I sniffled. "Hey Genevieve, Are you okay?" He asked. "Yeah." I wiped my nose. "Just under the weather. Um, I need some clarification on the murder that happened next door from your home. Do you have a moment?" I asked.

"Well I can't be on the phone right now, because I'm working on a song, but you're welcomed to come to the studio and we can talk it over." He said. I was hesitant, but I have to get this done. "Okay."

After getting the address to the studio, I sped there as fast as I could. When I pulled up to the semi lit studio building, I took a deep breath. I cleaned my face up a little bit, and sent Bruno a text telling him I was outside.

I saw Bruno walk out of the studio with a black Kings hat on, and I stepped out of my car.

I walked over to him, and he smiled brightly. "Hey. It's nice to see you again." He held his arms out to hug me. "Im sick." I lied. "I wont let it bother me." I fell into his embrace, and his skin was so warm, it made me feel comfortable. "Come on inside, I'd hate for your cold to get worse." He said. I walked up the stairs and Bruno put his hand on my lower back. His touch put a pit in my stomach, but I didn't say anything.

"Let's sit here." He led me to a couch that was in the lobby. "So what questions did you want to ask me?" He asked. "Um, when you saw the people coming out of the house next door, what did they exactly look like. In clothing attire specifically." "Well they were definitely men. They were wearing all black and they wore masks. Like a skii mask. And Im pretty sure they were white."

I came to the conclusion. The men that confronted me...were the suspected killers. But who were they? As a lead, how am I going to bring them to the light?

"Are you sure you're okay Eve? You just don't...seem the same since the last I've seen you." Bruno seemed worried. "I'm fine." I cracked a smile amongst my face.

"Is it too late to plan another date soon?" Bruno asked. The more I see Bruno, it could cost me my job, but I was curious to see what else he could offer.

"No, it's not too late." I find a way to smile. "Where would you like to go? I'll take you anywhere you want to go." Bruno suggested. "Mini golfing?" I asked. "Mini golf it is."

I had to get out of here before anything got extremely awkward, as if the situation wasn't already awkward. "Well, you better go back to making your music. I know that's important to you." I say. "Honestly, I wouldn't mind spending more time with you." I could definitely feel the flirtatious aroma in the air. "But I'm sure you had a long day. I know you're a hard worker. Go on, get some rest and get well. I'll call you tomorrow." He said. "Okay." I whisper.

He pulled me in for one more hug and said, "Drive safe. People are crazy these days." "I will."
