Chapter 23

THE SECOND MISSION

     After that drama, and the entire graduation was said and done, and the night was over, Dean and I went back to my dorm to study for an upcoming test and slept the night away.

     I woke to the glorious sound of Eursila Summer over the intercom,

     "Sebastian Black please report to the head office, Sebastian Black  to the head office please."

     "Great! Now what?"

     "Maybe she wants to congratulate you on... ummm..." Dean struggles to find the words,

     "Congratulate me on what? Yeah, I doubt it."

     Turns out that to get to the head office doesn't involve sedatives... thank God... but I am still greeted by the ever looming presence of Eursila Summer.

     "Sebastian! Good to see you! But honestly, what took so long?" Eursila asks sounding.... pleased.

     " Well I did just wake up..." I say cautiously

     "Really? You should have been up for hours no?" Eursila tilts her head like a curious puppy.

     "No I woke to your voice..."

     "Awww did you miss that?"

     I stay silent.

    She glares at me.

     "What's up? Uh I mean, what am I down here for?" I ask, trying to sound casual... and failing.

     "I need information from a enemie company, and as MacKenzie has a concussion... well..."

     "I'll do it!" I said, slightly too fast, which earned me a look from Eursula.

     I was glad that I was doing this instead of Mack, I still hadn't told her that when she was on her mission, I was completely outraged that Eursula had let her go. And yes, I did feel a enormous protection of Kenz.I know I have only known her, well really known her for what now? A few months, but still I knew, from the moment I saw those gorgeous hazel eyes in the dark Black Market, I just knew-

     "Sebastian? Excuse me? Hello?? Anybody home?" Eursula had interrupted my thoughts.

     "Sorry, what?"

     She sighed, "Will you let me explain the rest of your assignment?" I nodded, and she rolled her icy eyes,

     "You will be sneaking into the main building of Greenworks tower-" I nodded, and but inside my stomach did a backflip worthy of a gold medal at the Rio Olympics.

     Greenworks was the most contending rival of Eursula's young yet blossoming business, it was heavily guarded, and the information that she surely wanted me to get was bound to be on the top floor.

     "- and get me the microchip located in computer C on the top floor,-" And bingo was his name-o -"32nd room, to the left. Do you understand?" Once again I nodded, my stomach apparently now on the hurdles team as well...

     The next morning just before I went down to the main office, Kenz met me under the willow tree, a sad look on her face.

     "I don't want you to get hurt." she said at the same time I said, "It'll be ok" she looked close to tears at that moment, so I pulled her towards me, hugging her, my hands on her back, and my head in her hair, breathing in the scents of fall, lilac, and Mack. She looked up at me, the tears she conceals so well threatening to fall. I kissed her then, long as steady and slow. The wind whipped around us, like some scene in a movie, and the flowers from the bushes that surrounded us blew into the wind, towards freedom. 

     "If anything happens, go to Lizzy. If Bittanna does anything, punch her in the face then go to Dean. And remember, I love you. Besides I'll be back." I told her, she smiled at me.A sad smile it was, but a smile none the less, as a the last petal flew away, I took my tie off, and put it in her hands. She looked at it for just a moment then took her own off and put it around my neck.

     "I don't care if you can't wear it while your in there. Just remember that I'll always be there with you." She told me not looking at my eyes. I kissed her again then, and in the silence of the willow, time seemed to freeze.

     "I love you" I wispered, "but it's okay, I'll be back. I'm a stealthy ninja." I went into a pose of some sort that made her laugh then unexpectedly she pulled me into a kiss and whispers, " and remember don't get caught. She smiled at me. It was a familiar smile.And with that she saunters away. I then leave to go to Eursila's office.
