RIN's POV

I can't believe that I will be here again.

Here, in this school where staying would be a nightmare for me, in the past.

My teacher opened the door to the classroom.

It's my first day as a Senior High School student that's why my teacher lead me to class to be introduced to all.

She went inside and then hit the blackboard with a stick she was holding to get everyone's attention, while I, was standing beside the table in front of eveybody.

All eyes are on me now, even if I was not mouthing any words yet.

"From this day on, your new classmate will be with you for the entire year. Ms. Rin Lee came from the US, that's why she may not be familiar with our school so please take care of her well.” our teacher, who's called Ms. Ahn said in a firm tone.

“Annyeonghaseyo…

And then I bowed.

“I’m Rin Lee, I stayed in New York for 9 years since 4th grade. It’s been that long since the last time I was in Korea, so please take care of me.”

Then I smiled.

“Miss Lee please seat at the vacant seat beside the window at the back part of the room."

“Thank you Miss Ahn.” I said.

After that, I started to walk going to my seat at the back most part of the room.

Every step I take I can see everyone looking at me intently. Some smiling. Some just looks not so friendly towards me. They had those different expressions on their faces about me that I can't seem to fathom  what the reason why they are making those faces for.

Is there something funny with my face or do I look annoying to them that they look at me like that?

I finally found my seat and sat straight and then arranged my things. I put out the only things that are in my bag besides my wallet and my phone, my pen and notebook.

“Hi Rin!” the girl in front of me greeted

I just looked at her and then got back to my business.

“Hmmm… i'm Shin HaNa! Hope we can get along well in the future." She said to me with a smile.

I just smiled at her and did not say anything.

“Hmp. Wait, are you ignoring me or are you just mute?" She question in exasperation, but I didn't care. I just kept silent. I want to avoid these people as much as I can.

"A while ago you won't even answer me, and then you just smiled and then kept silent again. Does that smile mean it's okay to be friends?"

Oh she actually noticed I was avoiding her.

I want to just be a snob to everyone but this one's too persistent. She's actually getting so annoying now.

It's not that i see her as a bad person too, but I really tried ignoring her since I don't want to associate myself with anyone of them. I just don't want to create relationships that might get complicated after so long. Anyway, I will be leaving again after this, and so, what would I lose by not making friends?

These people just reminds me about the scary past. Just like how this school is a nightmare to me.

But I can feel now that this stubborn kid next to me is different from the others, so why don't I give it a try?

“Sure thing…

"I'm sorry if I'm not the talkative type. It’s just that I’m used to being quiet.”
