46th string - The Aftermath

MARCUS’ POV

 

I was on my way to the 4th floor, since Hana told me that Rin was called by Mr. Kim in the faculty room, when I heard something falling down the stairs from the floor above. The 3rd floor. I wasn’t really paying attention to it since it could possibly be just things that fell on the stairs. I walked at ease while trying to think of what will be the perfect activity today with Rin. I want to see her smile everyday that’s why I’m trying to make things perfect for her. I was on the steps going to the 4th floor when I heard a soft voice say,

“……things that you couldn’t even imagine”

And then as I was about to go, I saw a thick crimson colored liquid pooling on the floor. I followed where it was coming from and I got scared to see who would it belong with. But then the scariest thing to ever see was in front of me.

“Rin??????” I uttered in disbelief.

There on the floor, I saw my girlfriend lying lifeless in her own blood.

“RIN!!!!!”

“RIN!!!!!”

“RIN!!!!!”

“M-Marcus?” And so I noticed Seulgi sitting down in front of Rin quite nervous.

“S-she fell from the stairs a-and when I saw her she’s lying here unconscious. W-what do we do?” She cried.

I rushed to her side and see if Rin was breathing. There was little trace of air coming out of her nose.

“Call 911” I mumbled to myself and reached for my phone.

I told the hospital over the phone what happened to Rin and gladly they were blocks away from the school

When the ambulance reached the school, the responding team immediately hurried to Rin’s side and lifted her up in a spine board and attended to her care. We hurried to the ambulance and I didn’t even bother care whether everyone left in the school was watching us.

“Please hurry up and do everything you can to help her.” I told them as I was in the ambulance with Rin, still in disbelief that this happened.

You’ll soon feel fine. Please stay with me.

When we reached the hospital she was sent to the emergency room. I was asked to wait outside while they do procedures on her. They told me that Rin lost a lot of blood that’s why she has to be transfused with the same type she has. Gladly, they have stocks of blood that she needs.

“How can this happen.” I said as I was at the brink of breaking down.

I was like in the pit of despair. I never knew and would want for this to happen to her. She doesn’t desrve to be hurt. She doesn’t deserve punishment. She’s a good girl for all I know. Why was I not there when she needed me the most? I should have just been by her side. Because if that was the case this would have never happened.

My phone suddenly rang and I did my best to hold it tightly in my trembling hands.

“Yeoboseyo.” I greeted with a mournful voice.
