AIDEN’s POV

I didn’t know how’d I ever accept what happened awhile ago with Rin & Marcus. But I guess now I understand.

“I’m sorry if I’ve not told you. I was worried that it will have burdened you so I only told Hana that me & Marcus are dating.” The gal said with an apologetic expression.

“It’s okay.” I said but then with a hint of sadness.

All these times I’ve tried my best for her to notice me. I’ve been there wherever she goes. I’ve said so many pleasant things to her to make her feel better. I’ve cheered her up and made her smile… but then, I wonder what she saw in this prickly guy.

If you ask why I’m saying that… well it’s because, I think I must have fallen for this girl. And right now, I think, more than anyone else, I’m the most hurt to know that Rin has someone by her side already. To think that the guy she loves is one of my good friends just adds up to the pain.

“I’m just going to get a basin of cold water.” Rin told us and strode off to the kitchen.

“Hey, are you okay Aiden?” Hana asked.

“Yeah?” I answered but it sounded more of a question.

“When you sound like that, it just means something’s bothering you.” She pressed.

“Not really.” I said.

Rin came back and knelt on the floor before the sleeping drunkard on the sofa. She placed the basin on the floor and started wiping Marcus’ face with the damp towel.

“Mmmmmm…” Marcus groans.

“Hey, you kiddo, stay still or I’ll never take care of you.” Rin uttered to Marcus who must have not even heard it at all.

HANA’s POV

Rin took care of Marcus while me and Aiden just stayed sitting on the next sofa with that awkward silence around us. All this time I knew that something’s bothering him but then I think I just realized what it is now… no… maybe the right thing to say is… who it is.

From time to time I can see him take a glimpse at Rin. And his stares would be boring from Rin to Marcus. What’s worse is that his expressions would be either of annoyance or sadness.

“Hey, maybe we should get going now?” I asked him.

“Hmmmmmn…” He looked at me.

“I mean, maybe we’re not needed here now, shouldn’t we go home already?” I asked again sounding more demanding this time.

“I’m staying for a bit, maybe you should go if you want.” He told me nonchalantly.

At the sound of that, I felt my anger boil. How could this stupid guy shut me out of his life even until now?

I know that he likes someone… and that someone could be Rin. My bestfriend.

But then, isn’t he so stupid not to notice me?

Why of all people would it have to be her and not ME?!

“Hey. I’m not in a good mood, so if you wanna stay alive, follow my orders.” I said with a devilish aura and I started dragging him by the collar.

“Yah!” He shouted.

“Oww… are you going already?” Rin asked.

“Yes.” I said while trying to make my smile natural in front of her. I can’t let my bestfriend be burdened by my jealousy.
