RIN’s POV

The sportsfest came to a close. I won the pageant unexpectedly. Team 5 was declared champion of the sportsfest. As the night falls, I’ve nothing more to ask for. This has been one of the best days in Seoul so far.

The traditional bonfire was lit up in the middle of the school grounds. It is indeed big and hot, but the glistening red and yellow color is just so beautiful to look at as it is pitch black around at the moment. They say that this has been done in my school for 5 decades. Myths have been formed all because of it like, if you dance with the person you love around the bonfire, you will have a long lating relationship together, and when you kiss with the bonfire lit up, your partner has to be your soulmate.

I’m not one to believe a myth but I certainly do wanna try dancing around the bonfire with Marcus.

I walked around looking for him, but then he seems nowhere to be found. Suddenly someone covered my eyes and I could see nothing. I held the hands covering my eyes but I can’t remove it.

“Guess who.” The person changed his tone so I won’t be able to guess.

“Oh com’on, even if you don’t say it, I just know who you are.” I bluffed.

“Really?! Can you guess who I am just by touching my hands?” He said in his normal voice.

“Gotcha.” I said and he knew why. It’s because he was too taken aback that he forgot to change the tone of his voice, and made me figure out.

He removed his hands and then I smiled at the sight if him as I turned to his direction. He looked at me so lovingly. His face glistening as the light of the bonfire made his skin glow.

“Can I ask you for a dance?” He said and he offered me his hand.

A ballad started to play through the speakers around the school that resounded down to where we are. Several couples started to circle around the bonfire and they went closer to  each other, embraced and started to sway to the music.

A grin escaped from my lips but Marcus just raised his brow at me.

I giggled for a while which ruined our sweet moment, but I just couldn’t help but let it out. It’s the first time I got asked to dance by a guy. It’s not even our prom and I get to dance with the coolest guy in this school and in the whole world for my first time. Of course, wouldn’t it be possible when the coolest guy is my boyfriend? Just that no one knew except a few trusted people.

“I’m just kind of… touched… I never thought you’d ask me to.” I said while trying to suppress my tears.

He went closer but I backed away a few inches.

“But won’t this get you into trouble?” I told him.

“Hmmm… how? This last event was closed to the reporters. They got chased away already. And if you have noticed not a single person here cares whether who’s dancing with whom.” I looked around and he’s right. The couples just danced to the song in their own worlds.

“So?” He asked while raising a brow again at me.”

“Alright.” I said smiled and then sighed.

He went closer to me and got his hands wrapping around my waist.

“Don’t be scared. No one will be watching.” He whispered to my ear which sent shivers down my spine. I wrapped my arms around his neck and moved closer to him so he wouldn’t be able to see how red I am right now.

We slowly started to sway to the music, not speaking to each other at first.

“I’m sorry.” I said.
