"Mae," Josh nudged. He was met with a string of incoherent mumbles. "You gotta get up, it's like noon,"
I rolled over, realizing Josh had carried me to his bed, which I would both thank and reprimand him for later, "Well then it's a good thing time is a figment of our imagination ," I had yet to open my eyes.
"You're ridiculous," Josh moved my legs and sat down, setting my legs on his lap.
"But you love me so it's okay,"
"True true," His hair was beginning to fade again, but I don't think he had decided on a new color, "but you really do have to get up, we have to go decorate your house,"
"Fiiineee," I rolled off the bed and landed face down on the ground with a dull thud. "You're driving, my car isn't here yet," my muffled voice bounced off the floor, getting caught a little in my arms and face. Retreating footsteps echoed through the mostly empty space, followed by the jingle of keys and more footsteps.
"Let's go," Josh nudged my body with his foot. I groaned and rolled over, extending my arm so he could help me off the floor. The pale haired boy handed me the black vans I had worn the previous day, I looked at my bare feet and shrugged, I'd come get the socks later.
After only putting my shoes on halfway, we finally got in the car. I have Josh directions to my newly purchased house. We strolled up the pavement to the front door. I fumbled with the keys for a minute before turning the shiny silver doorknob and opening the black wooden door.
Piles of boxes awaited me, starring at me, probably in hopes of being emptied. We stood in the entryway for a moment, taking in the blank canvas of a house. I instructed Josh to sort boxes into their respective rooms. He joined me and set down a box in what would soon be my bedroom.
"These rooms are naked," I turned to face the baby pink hair that adorned my boyfriend's head. "I don't like it,"
"Well there's only one way to change that," Josh ripped open a box, then a smaller one labeled 'office supplies'. He pulled out a box of thumbtacks and handed them to me before digging through the first box he opened. "Here," The small bag of polaroids i packed now sat in my hand.
"I don't wanna poke holes in my pictures," I replied with defiance.
Josh let out a sigh and replaced the thumbtacks with a roll of clear tape.
So that's how we started. Polaroids soon took place of the naked wall, we were getting somewhere. "It's a start," A small huff made the hairs resting on Josh's forehead dance. "but it needs a little more," He started digging through the box again, pulling out a couple posters and picture frames.
"Since when are you an design expert?" I sassed, taking the memorabilia from Josh.
"Since when are you such a smart mouth?" he laughed, continuing to rummage through the box.
"And that's where you're wrong babe," I stopped pinning a poster to turn and look at him, "I've always been one," with a wink, I finished hanging a 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' poster, rearranging a couple polaroids in the process.

We set up some furniture, my bed, a couple tables, a dresser and bookcase, before unpacking my clothes. Josh was in charge of taking clothes out of boxes or bags and putting them on hangers or folded piles.
"Isn't this mine?" He occasionally asked
"No," My reply was the same every time, because they were his shirts, but I had adopted them and they were mine now.
"I'm pretty sure this is mine," Josh held up a t-shirt I snagged from him last time he was at my old apartment.
"I'm pretty sure I've had it for a month and now it's mine," After grabbing the shirt from Josh, I put it on a hanger and hung it up. He just rolled his eyes and kept going.
"I've been looking for this shirt for months!" He held up a worn gray t-shirt, had you not known Josh, it would look like any other gray shirt, but this, this was his favorite gray shirt. "I can't believe how much of this stuff you stole from me," Josh let out a small chuckle, handing me a couple jackets and blouses.
"That's why you're here," I explained, "so I don't have to buy new clothes,"
he let out a breathy laugh and shook his head.
"Mae Brighton, you are something else,"
"And you love me for it,"
"And I love you for it,"
