I stood over the body as it disintegrated. Some kind of decoy. I continued looking for an exit, and I found some oddly placed books. All the other books were in alphabetical order, but these weren't. Some were even upside down. Solar Wave, Trust Fall, Uranus, Artemis Fowl, River Red, Travesty, The Littletons. I grabbed them and put them on the table. I kept them in the same order, and the ones flipped and kept them that way too. I sat down when a purple mist hovered over an empty spot. The mist faded, leaving a cup of water and spaghetti. So, they had some way of teleporting things down here.

Subject 1370 has found the first clue. He is decoding it, and a meal has been sent in. Temporary lost of contact to body, nanochip has fractured. 15:24:43

I had tried several ways, none of them giving me anything sensible. I threw a book at the door. As it was flying, I realized something. What if it's not the books, but the titles. I grabbed them and took the first letter of each one, Stuartl. Nope, not it. I then thought about it. What if the last one isn't the same as the others? I looked at it. Stuart...Little? A famous book, and probably in the room. I thought over the idea and began a frantic search. I searched the E's and found E.B. White. Charlotte's Web, Trumpet Of The Swan, and Here Is New York. No Stuart Little. Where else would the book be? I rushed around, skipping over anything that wasn't it. I looked on every shelf, not one copy. I gave up and sat down. A gleam caught my eye. The metal piece of a pencil had caught the light. I almost looked back when I noticed the stack of books behind the desk. Of course, it's in the check-in pile. I found it on the bottom of the pile, along with a word scribbled on a post-it. As I lifted the book up, a creak penetrated the otherwise silent room. A door had opened up. I stuffed the post-it in my pocket and walked over.

Subject 1370 had found key and note. Entering stage three of brain analysis. No power used, possibility of not being an elemental rising. Extra brain tissue suggesting large development in ability, suggesting otherwise investigation. Mission to further check frontal cortex failed, microchip failed. 17:12:17

Gold. The room was coated in the stuff. Everything glittered, a sparkling array of light reflecting off every space. I slid my finger across the wall and gold dust clung to my finger. A clang resonated through the room, alerting me to the door closing. The purple mist appeared again, but instead of leaving me food it left me a person. One with a mask and sharp knives. He came at me, and I threw a bolt of power without thinking about it. He was sent flying backwards and lights flickered. If they figured out my power through that, I was going to give them a show. I threw my hands in the air and let my power escape. I was sent flying backwards, but all the lights went out. The building started shaking, plaster raining down on us. It got hotter and hotter as gold began to sweat, and I knew I had to run. I aimed my palms at the wall and destabilized the atoms. It crumbled to pieces, leaving a hole in the wall. I jumped through the wall.

Subject 1370 has acknowledged the plainness and ability of the room. Sending in agent to force the use of power. 17:13:45

Subject 1370 has sent a spherical shape towards agent, then lights began flickering. Building showing signs of damage. Earthquake meter detecting small tremors. 17:15:32

A scientist was standing over a computer, frantically scrolling. Must be looking for me.

"If you're looking for me, I'm right here" He turned around. He held some kind of gun with the weird shackles that prevented my power. I glared at it and sparks flew off of it. He dropped it, jumping back.

"How are you so powerful? I thought most elementals have between one to two powers?"

"They do. Just some are more powerful" I stomped my foot, stopping the earthquake. As he stumbled back through the rain of plaster, a larger chunk fell. It must have just been weak enough that my earthquake knocked it down. It landed on him, crushing him immediately. I hastily ran over, plaster ruining my path. I focused my power on destabilizing the molecules, but I was exhausted from all I had done and the bonds were too strong. I bent down and lifted the block up, barely holding it up. Every time I reached down, the debris slipped. I finally heard some voices behind me.

"Help!" My voice permeated through the small place, the only thing blocking it small particulates left in the air.

"Help! I need help! I can't hold this up much longer!"

"Where are you?"

"In the control room!" A masquerade of steps told me they were coming. I sighed, the prospect of letting this go reaching my brain. My arms were ready to break; adrenaline running out. The steps stopped when they reached the door.

"It's the experiment. I heard some step back, but others stayed.

"He's holding the debris up, our guy is under there. We can't let him die." I'm guessing the one who said that was the single set of footsteps walking behind me. I looked down to see a guy with light brown hair up in a swoosh, neon green eyes, and sharp features dragging the scientist out. I held it up until I couldn't see the scientist and dropped the wreckage.

"He's out, it hit him on the head. Put some ice on it and check for a concussion, ok?" I left before he could nod back, jumping out of a car-sized hole in the wall. I heard some yelling, but I was quickly hid in a fox hole almost impossible to see with the naked eye.
