"I saw a stone, glowing green. It was in a dark place, and a pile of ashes next to it. I think we need that stone." I started moving as soon as I heard Anna say it, immediately knowing what, and where it is.
I made it out of the field without anyone seeing me, but I had trouble in the woods. The plants seemed to close around me, a blanket of greenery snuffing out the light. I made it to the cave quicker than I should have, and the rocks shined, the colors swam and fell. The world shifted into a mirage, energy floating around me like gelatin.
I looked down at myself and saw copious amounts of energy flowing through a rough outline of me, wavering and shifting. Lines became less exact, every material shifting into each other slightly. I almost screamed, until I realized this was The Energy. I could see the energy of everything, rather than just their physical being. I started moving towards the shifting cave mouth when the veil of energy dropped. Suddenly everything was dead, just as it was with Miles. I entered the cave, hoping that when I came out the death in my vision would end.
As I entered the cave, I smelled the decayed animal. Knowing we dropped the stone with the beast, I followed the horrifying stench.
At the end of the odor was a skeleton and the stone in the center. Ants swarmed everywhere. I walked closer to grab the stone when the ants covered it. They surrounded me, their carcasses moving with ease. I grabbed an ant, the smooth exterior differentiating from what I could see as rotten. I squished it between my fingers, the view changing quickly to what it would appear. I sent an electrical charge, but the ants absorbed it.
I threw everything I had, but the ants grew more abundant. They swarmed towards me, their mandibles sparking. I closed my eyes when water sprayed across my face. I opened my eyes, water dripping from my face.
"Kaiti, Why did you follow me?" I turned around to a girl with brown hair and green eyes.
"My name's not Kait, it's Liz. I don't know who you were talking about, but why were those ants chasing you?"
"Probably just driven towards a certain blood type. Thank you" The pool of water and ant bodies made my voice smaller, but I drove it to a point. Her face questioned it, but she avoided asking.
"Do you need any help?" She offered her hand and I quickly grabbed the rock.
"What do you need the rock for?" I smiled back at her, remaining as mysterious as possible.
"Just a souvenir" She helped me up, but I started walking away as soon as I was up.
"Thanks for the help, but I kinda gotta go." As I walked away, I watched Liz turn around and leave, but not before glaring at me. The trip took longer than it should have, at least judging by the way I came back. I tried using my powers, but something seemed to be blocking it. Most likely the rock, as it seems to be the only thing that changed. I made it back past nightfall.
