She felt hurt.

She didn't notice the twins listening in to the conversation.

She didn't even notice that Lavender and Pavarti were watching them intensely.

Ron put his head down and pretended to be busy buttering his toast.

Harry was looking extremely awkward again.

"Yeah, I was just- I'm going to-"
She couldn't answer.

"Hello, do you want to go down to the stands and get a good seat?" Said a dreamy voice from behind her. It was Luna.

Hermione had never fully appreciated Luna before, but now Hermione felt extremely grateful.

"Yeah, let me just grab some more toast." Replied Hermione, getting to her feet.

Ron had missed his mouth and had got jam all down his chin in shock. Apparently he hadn't expected Hermione to have replaced him as well.

Hermione and Luna walked out of the hall together, eating toast. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the twins and Lee watching them and smiling. Of course! Hermione smiled to herself.

-- -- -- --

"GRYFFINDOR SCORES!" Shouted Lee. "Gryffindor are now neck and neck with Hufflepuff! Both teams have 70 points each!"

Hermione and Luna were cheering the players on (Hermione was cheering for Gryffindor, Luna hadn't picked a side).

In the stand below, Ron was cheering for Gryffindor without actually paying much attention. He was too busy thinking about how Hermione had replaced him with Luna. He hadn't actually been planning to watch the match with Dean and Seamus, he just wanted to see her reaction. At least now he knew how she felt.

"GRYFFINDOR WIN!" The stands erupted in screams of "Go go Gryffindor! Go go Gryffindor!"

Hermione watched as Lavender fought her way through the stands. She saw that she was heading towards Ron. Lavender pulled him by the arm towards her as she kissed him. For a second, it looked like Ron was going to push her off, then he relaxed and put his arms around her. The people near them had started whistling and cheering.

Hermione couldn't bear to watch. She felt sick.

Pushing past Luna, who was saying "they saw the Nargles!", Hermione made her way down the stands.

She got to the bottom step and found that her legs wouldn't support her anymore. She collapsed. Before she hit the floor, someone caught her.

"Hermione?"

"What happened?"

"I dunno, her legs sort of just- gave away."

Her eyes fluttered open. Blinking repeatedly, she tried to sit up but fell back again.

"Wha- whatsgoinon?" She mumbled.

"Hermione? Can you hear me?"

"Mmh?"

She saw a strip of red hair. As if someone had just tipped a bucket of cold water over her, she sat bolt upright. She instantly regretted it as her head started swimming. Shaking her head impatiently, she blinked her eyes and opened them wide. She saw Fred, George and Lee standing around her.

"What happened?"

"Well, you sort of- collapsed."

"Luckily George caught you before you hit the floor and brought you in here."

She looked around, she was in the changing rooms and Luna was sat on a bench on the opposite wall, humming to herself and gazing dreamily around the room.

She groaned as the memory of why she had ran off came back to her.

"We didn't want to take you to Madam Pomfery because then everyone would be asking questions." Explained George.

Hermione got up. "I'm fine."

"Hermi-" Lee started.

"I said I'm fine!" She snapped.

She pushed past them and ran out into the Quidditch pitch.

"Did you see that?" Asked Luna in a dreamy voice.

"What?"

"The-" but before she had finished, the twins and Lee had ran out after Hermione.

Back in the common room, the whole of Gryffindor were celebrating their victory in many ways: fireworks, shouting, singing and kissing, in the case of Lavender and Ron.

Harry had begun to worry were Hermione had gone.

At that moment, Hermione had stumbled through the portrait hole.

"Yeah, well done Harry. I'm just-" Hermione stopped as she saw Ron and Lavender. "I'm feeling a bit tired." And before he could say a thing, she had disappeared to the girls dormitories.

"Harry?" Harry turned around to see Ron standing there.

"Yeah?"

"Have you seen Hermione?" He asked, trying to sound causal.

"Yeah, she just went up to bed."

"Oh, right ok." He looked slightly upset. "I better-" he looked towards Lavender who was now beckoning him towards her.

"Have fun." Said Harry, who went up to the boys dormitory, feeling fed up.
