(Part 2) -because I need to write more and I have too many ideas ahhh...
I'm going to try with 1st person narrative and see how it goes.
Hermione's PoV:
After my brief encounter with Ron, I am desperate to get to breakfast before he does so I can try to avoid him. I don't know why he affects me in this way. I wanted to be with him, I still do, yet I want to avoid him at the same time.
I shake my head in annoyance. I really need something to help me sort out my thoughts in an orderly manner. What was that thing that I read about? A pen something...
As I try to remember what I had read about, I don't hear someone calling my name until Ginny jumps in front of me, making me jump.
"Hermione!" "Ginny!" We both cry at the same time.
"Where's Harry?" I ask, looking around the corridor, expecting him to pop up at any moment.
"I don't know, he went down to breakfast a while ago." Said Ginny, frowning.
We started walking but I turned my head to watch Ginny's expression. She noticed me watching her and tilted her head to face me as well. "What?" She asked. "Have I got something on my face?" She asked, rubbing her cheeks.
"No, you haven't got something on you face." I said with a small smile. Ginny put her hands down and looked at me quizzically. "You just seem a bit off, that's all." I said. Ginny sighed and stopped walking and I followed suit. "Is it about Harry?" I ask. Ginny stayed silent. "What's happened? I thought you two were going to the party together."
"We are." Ginny said quietly.
"So what's the matter?" I ask in confusion.
"Harry hasn't actually asked me out. Like, as a girlfriend. I just don't know where we stand." She said to the floor.
I nod. "But Harry likes you. I know he does." I shake my head as Ginny looks like she about to interrupt. "No, listen. He will come around to it eventually. He just needs some time."
She sighs and looks up at me. "I guess you're right."
"I know I'm right." I say sternly, making Ginny laugh. "Now come on, I'm hungry." I say.
We make it into the Great Hall and it is now almost completely full. I drag Ginny into a seat next to Harry, even though she tried to protest.
"Hi Harry." I greeted, nodding towards him and grabbing a bit of toast.
"Hi Hermione." He said, looking up from the Daily Prophet. Then he spotted Ginny and smiled awkwardly, making Ginny blush.
Fred and George then entered the Great Hall with Lee, and they sat down on the other side of us.
"So, how's the party planning going then?" Asked Harry, emerging from behind the paper and folding it up.
"Everything is going as planned." Said Fred, loading up his plate with eggs and bacon.
"Yeah, we predict that there will be around 100 people turning up. We had to enlarge the dressing rooms and add an extra chamber but of course, the room did all that for us." George winked at me, making me glare at him.
"We just have to add some finishing touches and everything will be up and ready for Saturday." Said Lee enthusiastically.
I sat up straighter in my chair, giving them my fullest attention. I still haven't worked out what they were doing in the Owlery.
"Like what?" Asked Ginny.
"Well, we had to send off for some more butterbeer. Didn't we?" Said Lee uncomfortably.
"But can't you just ask the house elves?" Asked Ginny.
Lee opened his mouth to reply but at that moment, Lavender and Won Won walked into the room, Ron looking fed up.
"There's no where else to sit!" Said Lavender, looking along the Gryffindor table. "Looks like we will have to share a seat then!" She said happily, dragging an even more annoyed-looking Ron with her.
I clenched my jaw as I watched the two of them. Harry hastily ducked back under the newspaper and Ginny scowled.
"There's no need." Said Ginny, getting up. "I'm leaving. Hermione, you coming?" She asked me.
I nodded my head and quickly got up, looking anywhere but at Ron. I heard Harry get up as well as Lavender huffed and plonked herself in my vacant seat.
The three of us walked out of the hall, Ginny in the lead. When we reached the Entrance Hall, Ginny stopped and turned to me and Harry, her eyes lingering a little longer on Harry.
There was silence for a while while we all just stood and looked at each other awkwardly.
Harry's PoV:
We stood there for a while, Hermione shuffling awkwardly and Ginny looking at our feet. I can't believe I haven't asked Ginny out officially yet.
"Um, Ginny, can I talk to you?" I asked. Ginny's head snaps up and her beautiful brown eyes link with mine.
A smile grew on Hermione's face. "In private..." I add unnecessarily as Hermione was already taking a step backward.
"I will see you during our morning break then." Said Hermione, nodding towards us.
Hermione's PoV:
Finally!
I walk up the marble staircase and away from Harry and Ginny. I start making my way to my next lesson, Ancient Runes.
Even though I'm happy for my two best friends, there is still a part of that feels like this could change everything.
Ron has Lavender, and now Harry has Ginny.
I'm going to just stop this right here because I have another chapter idea ready (for once). I hope you still enjoy reading, if so, let me know, if not, let me know how I can improve.
