Hermione woke up to find that everyone had already gone down to breakfast.

She looked in the mirror and saw that her eyes were red and baggy.
She pulled out her wand and moved it over each eye in turn, making the redness less visible.

She sighed. She decided that it was best not to go down to breakfast because everyone would stare at her when she walked in. Instead, she got out her Transfiguration homework and took it down to the common room.

"When transfiguring a still object into an animal, it is important to remember that..." She started to write.

In the Great Hall...
"And I think it would be best if you went to talk to her... being good at all the feeling stuff and all..."

"You better not be planning anything-" Started Ginny.

"Us? Why would we plan anything?"

"Yeah, I'm completely offended!" Exclaimed Fred, in mock outrage.

"Fine. But I am only doing this because she is my friend, right?"

"Of course!"

"Now take this toast." George said, shoving a rack of toast and butter towards her.

Ginny took it and walked out of the Great Hall.

Back in Gryffindor Common Room...
"When transfiguring a moving object into a still one, it is important to remember..."

Hermione looked up as the portrait hole swung open. She saw a flash of red hair and looked back her parchment.

"Hey Hermione!" Hermione sighed, it was only Ginny.

The red-haired girl threw herself into the chair next to Hermione.

"Here, you need to eat." Said Ginny, thrusting a plate of butter and a rack of toast into her hands.

"You aren't going to give me a choice are you?"

"Nope."

Hermione sighed.

"Now eat."

They sat in silence for a while, listening to the birds chirping, the fire crackling and Hermione munching.

Hermione looked outside. It was a sunny day.

"It is sunny outside." Ginny said a little too casually.

"No."

"What?"

"No, before you ask. I am not going out."

Ginny sighed and sank lower into her chair. CRACK!

Ginny jumped out of her chair. There was a burn mark in the seat.

"Fred and George! Ahh!" Exclaimed Ginny.

"Fred and George?"

"Yeah, their exploding capsules. They got the idea from exploding snap, except they needed something smaller and concealable."

Hermione took the opportunity to change the subject. "I need to go-"

"No you don't need to go to the library, you need to go outside and let your hair down!" Said Ginny, with her hands on her hips.

At that moment, the portrait hole opened and Harry emerged, looking slightly annoyed. Ginny went pink. Hermione noticed this change in her friend and tried to stop herself from giggling.

"Hello Hermione, Ginny." He said, nodding to the now even pinker red-head.

"Hey Harry, what are you planning on doing today?" Hermione asked.

"I was planning on having a fly around, you?"

Hermione smiled. "Me and Ginny were planning on going outside for some fresh air..."

Ginny jumped up again. If there had been a bang, Hermione would have thought there was another exploding capsule. "Actually- I er- needed to go to the library..."

Hermione stared at her.

"I guess- I'm just gonna grab my broomstick." And she rushed off towards the girls dormitories.

Hermione started laughing at the look of confusion on Harry's face.

Harry just shook his head and went to the boy's dormitories to get his Firebolt.

They both returned a minute later and walked through the portrait hole together. Thanks guys! Hermione shook her head, grabbed her book and followed them.

They reached the Quidditch Pitch and Hermione worked her way through the stands. Her book lay, forgotten, next to her as she watched her two best friends as they zoomed around.

They swapped brooms so Ginny could have a go on the Firebolt.

The sun started to set and Hermione made her way back to the castle. They won't miss me. She smiled to herself.

She went into the Great Hall feeling immensely hungry, having skipped lunch. She sat down at the table and started to eat.

The sound of giggling interrupted her thoughts. She looked down the table and saw Lavender, sat next to Ron. She was feeding him food from her fork.

Hermione felt angry. She cringed at the way Lavender giggled and how she stroked his arm.

"Stupid Lavatory, I'm surprised he doesn't flush her." Said a voice in Hermione's ear, making her jump.

It was Lee. Behind him stood Fred and George, smirking. Then they sat down next to her and started to eat.

"Where is Ginny?" Asked Fred after a while.

Hermione giggled and looked towards the entrance.

"Looks like they have been having fun."
Commented George.

Ginny's hair was looking wild and Harry looked flushed.

Hermione hit him on the arm. "They were flying!"

"Okay then." Said Fred, winking.

Hermione rolled her eyes.

Lavenders giggling could be heard by the whole Gryffindor table now.

Fred lobbed a chicken drum stick at them and it knocked Lavenders fork out of her hand. She was obviously about to feed Ron with it.

"Cut it out will you?" Shouted George at them.

A very embarrassed (and annoyed) Ron ducked under the table to retrieve the fork.

Sorry if this chapter isn't very good, I didn't know what to write. The next chapter will be better!
