This chapter is going to be Ron's point of view on the past 8 chapters (starting at the end of chapter 18). All 8 chapters are the same day but I thought it would be interesting to add in Ron's point of view. I haven't included chapter 26 which is the detention because there was a lot of dialogue. I think there's 2000 words something for this chapter. It's a long one but don't be put off!
Part 10- Ron's PoV's:
(18) This morning I woke up in a bad mood and as soon as I stepped foot in the common room, Lavender was instantly glued to my arm. She said I looked ill and started dragging me to the Hospital Wing. Sometimes she can be really annoying. I've seen the way people look at us when we're together. Apart from Hermione, she just ignores me these days. It's embarrassing to be called "won won" and fussed over in public. So we got into an argument. That's when I saw Hermione walking down the corridor, with a quill and parchment in her hand. She had obviously just come from the Owlery and I completely forgot about Lavender in front of me as I watched her pass. She didn't look at me. I'm not sure why but that annoyed me even more.
(19) I finally managed to persuade Lavender that I was perfectly fine and that I just wanted some breakfast. We made our way down to the Great Hall but when we got there, the table was full. Apart from one seat. "There's no where else to sit!" Exclaimed Lavender. "Looks like we will have to share a seat then!" She cried happily, dragging me towards the one available seat. Everyone was staring at us, some sniggering behind their hands. Ginny looked up, horrified. "There's no need." She said as she jumped up. "I'm leaving." She left the hall with Harry and Hermione. I'm surprised Harry went with them, I thought at least he would stay with me. Lavender sat in Hermione's seat and I sat next to her, grabbing the nearest plate of bacon. I turn my head. From where I'm sitting, I can see a large part of the Entrance Hall and I can see Harry and Ginny together. Alone. I look across and see Hermione walking away, a strange expression on her face. I brush my uneasy thoughts and turn to Dean to ask what lesson we have first.
(20) I am lining up with the rest of the class, waiting for Professor Trelawny to show up and start the lesson, and Harry still isn't here. Lavender told me that she isn't going to sit next to me this lesson because she doesn't want to be "distracted". I just shrugged, secretly happy to have my own space. Trelawny started talking about crystal ball reading or something, I wasn't really paying attention. Just then, Harry burst out of the trap door, mumbling his apologies to the professor. He looked happy about something. I could feel Lavender staring at me and Harry cringed when he saw, making me shift in my seat uncomfortably. He came over and took the seat next to me, with a confused expression on his face. I told him that Lavender said she wanted to sit next to Pavarti so she wasn't distracted. "It doesn't look like it's working." He pointed out. I turned around in my seat to look across at Lavender and regretted it instantly. She giggled and waved. I didn't miss Pavarti's eye roll. I decided to change the subject and ask him why he looked so happy. He hesitated for a moment before replying." Malfoy got told off my McGonagall." I could tell he wasn't telling the truth but laughed along with him anyway. Why would he keep things from me? I'm supposed to be his best friend. Lavender tutted at me when Trelawny told me off and that put me in a worse mood. Trelawny came over to us and looked into the dust-covered ball on our table. "Saturday will bring a new romance!" I rolled my eyes. Saturday is Valentines Day, of course there will be new couples. When the lesson finally ended, I practically ran out of the room hoping to walk to Potions alone but of course, Lavender was right behind me and grabbed hold of my arm almost instantly and dragged me off.
(21) I looked over at Hermione when lining up outside the potions classroom. When she noticed me, she turned away to talk to a guy in Gryffindor. I look over at them, not knowing why I suddenly feel jealous. He's tall, well-built and has golden hair. I grab hold of Lavender's arm. Hermione looked over and scowled. "Hey Potter!" Malfoy suddenly shouted, diverting Hermione's attention away from the Gryffindor. "What?" Asked Harry, turning slowly around to face the ferret. "How's Weasel's sister? I heard you two are official now." Shrieked Pansy. I pulled myself away from Lavender and turned to face Harry, fists clenched. So that's what this morning was all about. Why didn't he tell me? "What?" Harry wouldn't look at me and that was all the answer I needed. "You're dating my sister and you never told me!" I shouted at him. All my anger and emotions that had built up from today was now being released on my best friend. I have a right to be angry. He should have told me. A voice inside my head said. Hermione stepped forward. For a moment, I had forgotten that she was there. "Yes they are dating now. Does it matter?" She asked, calmly. "He's supposed to be my best friend!" I shouted, before I could stop the words from tumbling out. Hermione's expression changed; her eyes darkened and her eyes watered. "And your supposed to be ours!" She practically screamed. Her words felt like a punch to the gut. A thousand punches. Snape appeared and reminded us of our detention but I wasn't really paying much attention. Hermione's words kept replying in my head.
