Thursday- 2 more days to go!!

Hermione sat waiting for the mail in the Great Hall surrounded by Ginny, Harry and the twins. Lee was apparently still sleeping and Pavarti and Lavender were yet to come down. Lavender was waiting impatiently in the common room for Ron when Hermione left.

————

"Where is he? Do you think he has already gone down?" Asked Lavender anxiously.

"No, I don't think so, we would've seen him." Replied Pavarti, gently. "You'll have plenty of chances to speak to him today. Why don't we just get breakfast and you can speak to him before Divination?" She said, trying to reason with her best friend.

Lavender reluctantly nodded her head and left the common room with Pavarti, looking over her shoulder just in case as the portrait swung closed behind them.

Ron waited until he heard the portrait close before descending the last few steps of the staircase and stepping into the common room. He crossed the room swiftly and slipped out of the common room, making sure the coast was clear before stepping out into the corridor.

Back in the Great Hall, all conversations were interrupted as the morning mail was delivered by the hundreds of owls sweeping through the room, locating the people whom the various packages and letters were addressed to.

Lavender and Pavarti arrived just as the Daily Prophet dropped onto Fred's bacon and Lee arrived shortly after with many nudges from Lavender to Pavarti. By the time most of the mail had been delivered, Ron had arrived and sat himself down next to George. He had just helped himself to a few eggs when a final small package was dropped into the milk jug with a splash. Fred scowled at the owl as it flew off, waving his now soaked newspaper about in a weak attempt to dry it.

"Wingardium Leviosa." Said Hermione as she levitated the wet gift out of the milk jug. It fell the the table with a slap. She carried on eating, uninterested in the small gift that she had failed to recognise as another Valentines gift.

Ron picked the gift up, slightly awkwardly. "Hermione-" She hummed to show that she was listening as she went back to reading. Everyone had gone silent. "I think this is yours." Hermione finally looked up and her eyes widened as she realised what the gift was.

"Ooh! Not another one!" Exclaimed Lavender.

Hermione quickly snatched the gift out of Ron's hand.

"Aren't you going to open it?" Asked Pavarti curiously.

"I haven't opened the one from yesterday yet." Replied Hermione, attempting to dry the gift with her napkin.

"You don't want to put that in your bag and get all your books wet Hermione." Said Fred wisely.

"Yeah, best open it now." Agreed George, knowing what his twin was trying to do.

Hermione glared as she ripped the soggy brown paper off.

Inside was a small box. It was wooden and had a heart engraved into it. Hermione opened it and a few chocolates fell onto the table with variously coloured foil wrappers.

"There's a note as well." Pointed out Ginny, excitedly.

Hermione grabbed the note from inside the box and turned it over to read it.

Don't worry if you don't have an outfit for the party yet- I look forward to seeing you there.

Hermione read it over and put it hastily back into the box.

Ginny read the note out load from memory. "That's-"

"So romantic!" Squealed Lavender.

Lee scrunched up his nose.

Ron opened his mouth but before he could speak, the bell went and he stormed out of the hall without another word, Lavender hurrying to catch up.

"Ron!"

There was no use- he had gone.

Pavarti stood up, about to follow her best friend when Lee stopped her, putting out his hand to get her attention.

She looked over at him curiously. Fred and George gave Lee cheeky smiles behind her back, causing him to become flustered.

"Erm- have a nice- lesson." He said, his normally cheeky persona gone as he stumbled over the sentence he was trying to get across.

"Oh. You too." Replied Pavarti.

There was silence.

"Well-"
"Okay-"

"You first." Said Lee, trying to ignore the twins who had doubled up with laughter.

"I'll see you later." Said Pavarti, turning around and quickly walking away from the awkward atmosphere.

When she had gone the twins started laughing again. Lee walked past them toward the exit, wanting to get to lesson. The twins followed.

"Have a nice lesson?" Repeated Fred, pretending to wipe a tear from under his eye.

Lee scowled at the marble staircase.

"Mate, she has Divination. I don't think she will have a nice lesson." Said George.

Lee stopped and turned around. "She likes Divination, she told me."

At that the twins stopped smiling, their faces serious.

Lee turned back around again, satisfied that their teasing would stop. He was, of course, wrong.

"Be careful not to hold her hand too much-" said Fred.

"Yeah- next she'll be reading your palm and telling you that your heart line isn't long enough." Said George.

The twins doubled over in fresh waves of laughter.

Lee sighed.

I've had a huge break from writing and my exams are now coming up. I've been very busy but I wanted to publish this chapter.

I'm not sure if people are still interested in this story or if there's anything that needs improvement. Please comment if you want me to continue or your thoughts with how I could improve. Or even if you don't want to comment, vote if you liked it and send me a message if you have any comments.

I won't be updating regularly and I'm not sure how many more chapters until the end but there is still a while to go.

Once again: thank you for reading and thank you if you have stuck with this book even though I haven't updated in ages!
