Hermione got to Snape's office just as the door opened and Snape walked out.

"Where is the other two?" He asked impatiently.

"In the Great Hall."

"In the Great Hall professor."

"Sorry professor."

"Hurry up!" Snapped Snape. Hermione looked round.

Lavenders unmistakable giggling could be heard from down the corridor.

When they appeared next to Hermione, Snape scowled at them. "You're late."

"Sorry professor." They mumbled.

"Anyway. Now we are all finally here," he scowled again at Ron and Lavender, "I shall tell you your task for tonight." He smirked.

This can't be good. Thought Hermione.

"Granger, I would like you to clean up the mess you caused in my classroom."

"Yes professor." That's not so bad.

"Brown and Weasley, you will be sorting out my potion supplies in my office."

"Yes professor." Hermione scowled at them.

"You will not leave until it is completed up to standard. Oh and Weasley, Brown, no magic." And with that, he swept off down the corridor.

Hermione wasted no time in heading towards the classroom on the opposite side of the corridor.

She walked over to the desk and looked down at the rats tail that had attached its self to the wood. "Right then..." She mumbled to herself as she took out her wand.

Spell after spell was aimed at the desk but the tail wouldn't budge. Hermione knew she would have been able to complete it already but it was a bit difficult with Lavenders squeals and screeches of laughter.

There was a sound like a smashing of glass then someone was shouting.

"I SAID NO MAGIC!" It was Snape.

Hermione went out into the corridor and saw at once what had happened: variously coloured potion ingredients were splattered on the floor and some smashed glass jars were laying on the floor. Ron had his head bowed to the floor, with his wand in his hand and his ears were red and Lavender looked like she was about to cry.

"Granger, you better help Weasley clear this mess up." Said Snape turning to Hermione. "Brown, I have an easier job that you might be able to do" And with that, Snape swept off down the corridor, a very sheepish looking Lavender following.

"What a-" Ron started to say but Hermione cut across him.

"Reparo" she said, pointing her wand at the mess. She watched as the coloured ingredients zoomed back into their newly fixed jars.

If it was anyone else, she would have felt sorry for them, but it was Lavender.

"There. Now what is it that Snape wanted you to do exactly?" She asked Ron, not looking at him.

"Re label them and sort them into alphabetical order." He replied.

Hermione stepped forward and started sorting through the labelled jars, putting them in groups of a's, b's, c's and so on. "Here," she said pushing more blank labels towards him. "You can re label them and I will sort them."

"Hermione?"

"What?" She snapped, turning to face him. Her brown eyes seemed to flicker with anger as she glared at him.

"What is your problem?"

"My problem. What is my problem?" She repeated angrily. Ron flinched slightly as her eyes seemed to throw daggers. "Well, Ronald, I find it very hard to concentrate with Lavender squealing and giggling like a little child when I just want to get on with my work."

Ron flared up at once, "Look, what has she ever done to you? You're just jealous." He had done it. He had hit a nerve and he realised when Hermione slammed down the glass jar she was holding causing it to smash.

"Jealous? Jealous?!" She repeated, her voice rising shrilly. And with that, she stormed out of the office, leaving a fuming Ron behind.

Halfway down the corridor leading to the Entrance Hall, Hermione found her path blocked by Draco Malfoy and his cronies, Crabbe and Goyle. As she came closer, they turned to face her.

"Well well well. Look who it is!" Malfoy said, his arms crossed over his chest.

"Move out of the way Malfoy." Hermione said, through gritted teeth.

He carried on like he didn't hear her. "How was your detention with the love birds. How does it feel to be the third wheel?" Her hand tightened around her wand but they didn't see. "I bet it feels normal to you because you're a-" but just exactly what she is none of them found out because at that moment, Hermione forgot her wand and punched Malfoy on the nose. At the same time, two spells shot past her on either side and hit Crabbe and Goyle straight at their ugly, smirking faces.

Hermione turned around and saw Fred and George stood with their wands out.
