CHAPTER 18: EVACT

I  cried as I held Ms.Pillar in my arms, Derek came by my side and fell to his knees as he looked down at Ms.Pillar. His face was wet but I could see the tears rolling down his cheeks. He grabbed her hand and gritted his teeth. "Well that was frustrating" Majesta said as came towards us. "You monster!" Derek screamed as he got to his feet and pointed both his guns at her. But before he could fire Majesta teleported in a puff of smoke in front of him. She grabbed him by the neck and lifted him up.

Derek struggled and kicked as he was being choked. Majesta smiled a crooked smile as her head tilted left. "You've been a pain in my but for awhile now boy" she said. Suddenly all the veins in Dereks body started to turn black. He stopped struggling dropping his guns. I was in to much shock to do anything, luckily  Sandra did. She summoned a ball of fire from her hand and shot it at Majestas face. But before it hit her it blew up in a large flash of light. Majesta was blinded and dropped Derek  to the floor.

Sandra then shot two chains from her sleeves again. She swung one at me and the other at Derek. The chains tied around me and Derek allowing Sandra to pull us back to the hall. She ran as she dragged us along back to Evact. She threw Derek onto the dragons back first, she then flung me next to him. "Fly!" She screamed as she jumped in. Evact screamed as it took off into the sky. I looked back down at the alter one last time. I seen Majesta walking out from the entrance. She still had that smile on her face.

She raised her arm towards us, "uh oh" I said. "What's wrong?" Sandra asked in a panic. But it was to late, a bolt of electricity shot from Majestas arm. It hit Evact in the side, the dragon hollered in pain as we fell from the sky. "Evact!" Sandra screamed over the rushing air. We free fell for what seemed like forever until we struck a building....... hard
We all flew out of the saddle. I fell on my back onto the hard concrete of the ground with a CRACK! Derek fell to my left and my sword fell next to me to my right.

I grunted in pain, and to my realization Evact was on the roof of a building in front of us. Sadly the 50 ton dragon rolled over and off the roof. I quickly got to my feet, grabbed Derek, grabbed my sword and leaped out of the way before Evact could crush us. Evact hit the ground cracking the concrete. Sandra then fell from its saddle hitting the ground. I placed my sword back into my scabbard. I looked over at Derek who seemed to be dead in my arms. "DEREK!" I yelled.

Suddenly Derek shot back to life and sat up breathing heavily. He grabbed his chest and looked around frantically. I wrapped my arms around him into a bear hug. "Oh don't scare me like that man" I laughed. Derek calmed himself and looked at me. "Sorry, kind of lost my cool for a second" he joked. "AHHHH!!!" Sandra screamed. Me and Derek looked to see her on her knees over a dead Evact. It laid there lifeless as she cradled its head. "Why Evact, why now, you were my best friend" she cried. "Oh no" Derek whispered. I sighed as I got up to my feet.

I walked by her side, "im sorry" I said as I crouched by her. She jumped onto me wrapping her hands around me and crying into my shoulder. I was confused on what to do for a moment. I didn't really have a lot of experience with this before. But I returned her hug and held her tight. "Umm not to be that guy, but we gotta go guys" Derek said as he made his way over. "We got company". I looked down the road and saw a group of people coming towards us.

I lifted Sandra to her feet "come on" I said. "No I want to-" "DANG IT SANDRA WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS, WE HAVE TO GO!" I screamed in her face. She slowly stopped sobbing and wiped her tears away. "You're right, let's go" she said with a shaky voice. I grabbed her hand "okay let's go" I said as I pulled her along. "Where to now?" Derek asked as we ran along. "To the pier, we'll take a boat back to the main land" Sandra said. "Wait!" We heard someone yell from behind us. We all stopped and turned seeing Brandon rushing towards us.

"Great" Derek said, Brandon approached us with a cast on his hand. The side of his face was a little swollen and his eye was red. "Please, if guys are leaving please take me with you" he begged. Sandra scoffed "you got some balls asking me of all people for anything" she said. "I know but please, I need your help, there are dangerous people running around and I can't find my dad anywhere" he said. I swallowed hard. "No way" Derek said "I don't like you at all, and I like everyone, so you can stay for all I care".

I remembered Kendricks last words protect my son. "No" I rushed to say, Derek and Sandra looked at me. "Why no?" Derek asked. "Uhh Brandons not the enemy, if we don't all unite as a whole and put past problems behind us, then the enemys already won" I told them. They stood silent for a second pondering on that. "Fine" Derek said, "but if you cross me again, you'll regret coming with us, im already not in the mood" he threatened. Brandon smiled "thank you" he said. Suddenly I block of ice came flying in towards Brandon. Luckily I seen it coming and tackled him out of the way.

The ice hit the ground freezing some of the floor. "Oh no" Derek said pointing down the road at a group of people standing there. "We got company. Sandra scoffed again as the chains fell from her sleeve "the idiot led them right to us, but dosent matter, I have some steam to let out anyways".
