Colin's POV

The following week she didn't come to set. Knowing Jennifer, that was really unusual of her. I was really worried about her. What if something happened to her? I wouldn't forgive myself. Well, I already couldn't forgive myself for hurting her in the first place anyway, but that was not the point right now.

I had returned to my apartment eventually and tried to make amends with Helen. She deserved a proper explanation after all. We talked and she seemed to accept the fact that our marriage wasn't going anywhere either way. I was here in Canada and would be for a while, while she was in Ireland. It just couldn't work.

A few days later she left for Ireland.

All I wanted now was to fix things with Jennifer, but she was ignoring me big time.

Jen's POV

I had taken the week off, making up a crappy excuse about a sick relative back home. I just spent it at my house, drinking whatever I could get my hands on that contained at least 30% of alcohol. I desperately needed to clear my mind off of him. It was definitely not the best way, but it was quite effective, until it wasn't.

I was miserable, but I was strong enough to convince myself that it was gonna be alright.

I had to return to work eventually.
That meant I had to face Colin again soon.

When I went back to work, I was far from ok, though I was a lot better than I was the week before.

My eyes weren't red anymore from crying myself to sleep every single night. I had managed to get some decent amount of sleep and had returned to my usual daily routine.

I had also thought over all the things that happened between me and Colin and concluded that I would just avoid him as much as possible. This was going to be really hard, because it is Colin, but I would try my best. I had to. I owed it to myself.

I could probably forgive him at some point, but I wouldn't let myself be fooled by him ever again.

My walls, those he had managed to bring down, were now up again, more solid than ever. I couldn't trust him again. I couldn't trust any man anymore.

All thanks to him.

I knew he would try to make things up between us and try to be my friend again, but he had hurt me and he had to work really hard for that, if it was possible at all.

And that's exactly how it happened. I started talking to him again, strictly on a professional level, when it was absolutely necessary. Thankfully, we didn't have to film many scenes together right away, because that would be really hard for both of us.

Colin's POV

Jennifer was back eventually, but something had changed inside her. I could see that. I felt terrible seeing her that way. All that mattered to me now was to get her back, but knowing her, I knew it was going to be a long way.

I had tried to approach her many times. She just didn't want to face me in any way. Every time I tried to talk to her, she would go straight to her trailer ignoring me completely.

Sometimes she would pretend she was reading her book or have some serious talk with whoever from the cast was nearby at that moment.

I had called and texted her almost every day. No response.

She was just as cold as ice. It was like I didn't exist for her outside work.

I deserved everything that I was getting, but I wasn't going to give up. I knew that deep down she wanted me too. At least she once did. So, I was willing to go through hell to win her back.

My divorce was in progress, meaning that soon I would be a free man.

Jen's POV

I was living my life peacefully, secretly enjoying the tortures Colin had put himself into to draw my attention. I was still mad at him.

And for him.

But I wasn't gonna give in to his charms. Not just yet.

A/N: Ok, I'm not so proud of this one, but I had to briefly explain what happened during the time they weren't talking so it made sense🙈
Might post the next chapter in a few hours because I really can't wait for you to read it😊
