Jen's POV

It was a quiet and cold evening in Vancouver. I started packing my suitcase for our flight tomorrow. I was going through my closet, looking to find the perfect dress for the festival. Of course, nothing seemed perfect to me at that moment. The struggle of being a woman; you never have anything to wear, no matter how many closets full of clothes you have.

I came across that pink dress I wore on New Year's Eve. It was kind of cute and romantic, a safe choice. I threw it on the "yes" pile on my bed and continued digging.

We were only going to stay in Atlanta for two days, but I'm a girl, I needed to be prepared for everything. I ended up packing three pairs of shoes and four dresses, along with several scarves, some more casual clothes and my everyday necessities of course. I was pretty sure my suitcase would be double the size of those Adam, Eddie and Colin were bringing but that never bothered me. They would mock me either way.

The next morning, I was dropping Ava off at Ginny's. I prepared her dog food and bowls and hopped on my car. When we arrived I pulled up the car on the side of the road and scooped Ava up from the backseat along with the bag that contained her stuff. I carried her to the front door and rang the bell briefly. Ginny answered the door with baby Hugo in her arms and Oliver shyly hiding behind her.

As soon as Ava saw him, she jumped down and went over to him. He let go of Ginny's leg and started petting her with the biggest smile on his face. She kept wiggling her tail out of joy.

These two had bonded a lot these past few years and every time I saw them together my heart melted. It also made me think of whether Ava would be as enthusiastic if I had kids of my own one day and she no longer had my undivided attention. And every time I shook this thought instantly because I was pretty sure I didn't have to worry about that any time soon. It was gonna be just the two of us for a long time.

I carefully hugged Ginny, thanking her for always being willing to look after Ava when I was absent, kissed Hugo on the forehead and took off to my house again.

I had enough time to take a shower before the cab that was taking me to the airport arrived. The guys were already there waiting for me and as I suspected, they made fun of the size of my luggage. I laughed at their witty comments and soon enough we proceeded to board the plane.

Thankfully, no one recognized us during the flight, so it was a quiet one. Colin was sitting beside me but we didn't get to talk much. We only got to take a few goofy selfies before he took his iPod out and put his earphones on and I decided to do the same, using my phone. I, as usually, fell asleep when we were close to landing, but Colin was kind enough to wake me just in time to be able to gather my belongings before we were asked to disembark.

We took a cab to the hotel we were all staying in. We checked in as soon as we arrived and each of us headed to their room. Mine was right next to Colin's, both on the third floor, while Adam and Eddie's rooms were located on the second floor. Colin, being the gentleman he always is, carried my luggage up to my room's door, no matter how many times I reminded him that both my hands were perfectly functional. We said our goodbyes and each entered their room.

The two of us had agreed on going to Starbucks later on. I couldn't live any longer without having my daily chai latte. I was already becoming cranky and it was only going to get worse. I unpacked some of my stuff, changed into some jeans and a shirt, and headed out of the room. I knocked lightly on his door and he opened up in an instant.

My breath hitched in my throat at the view before me. He was only wearing a pair of jeans, still holding his button-up on his hand.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were done dressing. I'll leave you to it." I awkwardly said and began to turn around.

I knew we had agreed on being friends. I was ok with that, our friendship was beyond perfect, but I was nowhere near content with it.

I had barely taken a step when I felt his hand grabbing my arm. I turned back around and looked at his beautiful blue eyes.

"Hey, it's ok, you can come in, I'll be done in a minute." he smiled up at me reassuringly.

He stepped aside so I could go in and I made my way to the small couch. I fumbled nervously with my hair, trying to erase the image of his naked chest from my mind, as I was waiting for him to get ready. A few minutes later he was indeed ready. We linked arms and took off.

While waiting on the line to get our coffee, a few fans approached us and we took some pictures with them. Apart from that, the rest of the time we spent quietly at a table in a corner. We engaged in a light conversation, but soon enough it was time to meet the others for dinner.

During dinner at the hotel restaurant, we discussed about the upcoming con the next day. Adam and Eddie informed us about what was acceptable for us to reveal during the event and what was completely out of the question. I was still a bit nervous about receiving the award, but despite that, I had a great time talking with the guys.

At around 9:30pm we went back to our rooms. I called Ginny to check on the kids and Ava. Not longer after I had hung up with her, my phone buzzed again.

I read Colin's name on the screen along with a message asking me if I was still awake.

I smiled at my phone's screen and swiped it unlocked to let him know that I was, indeed.

A few seconds later there was a knock on my door. He was unbelievable! I opened up and saw him leaning on the wall across. He slowly stood and approached me. I was still figuring out what he was up to.

"Come with me." he said softly when he had reached me.

I let out a silent giggle.

"Where?" I asked, clueless.

"I wanna show you something." he informed me with a soft voice.

I quickly grabbed my key card and he took my hand, leading me to the elevators.

"Colin where are we going?" I asked again, in an attempt to extract some information from him.

"Wait and see." he said and we got inside.

He pressed the button with the number 8 on it and a few minutes later we were standing outside the elevator, on the eighth floor of our hotel.

I looked around and gasped. We were standing outside a big empty room with a couple tables and chairs lined across one side of it. Instead of walls, there were only windows and because of it being the last floor of the building, the view was breathtaking.

"This used to be a roof garden but they closed it up a few years ago." he informed me.

"Wow!" I said in awe.

He scratched behind his ear.

"I'm glad they put a roof above it, otherwise I wouldn't be able to bring you here." he said.

I looked at him with a face resembling the face of a little kid on their first trip to Disneyland.

"Colin, it's wonderful. Thank you." I said and kissed his cheek.

He took my hand and led me further inside where the tables were aligned to the wall. He then pulled out a chair for me to sit and sat across from me. He reached my hands from across the table and took them in his. I looked at him with a puzzled look, silently begging him to tell me the reason we were actually there. Not that I didn't like it, of course I did.

But it was Colin and he hardly ever did things without a reason. His voice broke me out of my thoughts.

"I brought you here because I wanted to ask you something." he exclaimed, looking deeply into my eyes.
