"Mitchell," called Renfrey. He could see the annoyance in my expression. The girl applying for the Nanny position was already five minutes late.

I looked up to him, "Tell Lady Ellanor I will see her now." I grounded my teeth together. I didn't want to have this meeting but it was necessary. "Since this other vampire wants to test me and be late I might as well get Lady Ellanor out of the way. You know how she doesn't like to be kept waiting."

Renfrey nodded and left to escort Lady Ellanor into a more comfortable room for our meeting. She didn't like being kept waiting just as much as myself but since this vampire had been the only person to even reply to the position, I couldn't just send her on her way. I needed someone to occupy Azereen. It wasn't fair to leave her alone to herself all the time.

I saw a maid waiting by the door to a cozy sitting room that had Lady Ellanor waiting behind it, and told the maid to bring tea and cakes. Renfrey walked out and shut the door behind him. He looked aggravated.

He clenched his jaw and flexed his hands by his sides, "That woman...." he grounded out in a harsh whisper. He shook his head knowing all too well not to finish his sentence. Lady Ellanor wasn't a vampire but she still had excellent hearing like one.

I wasn't looking forward to this meeting but thankfully it didn't take long. After having Renfrey escort Lady Ellanor to her car I went to get the awaiting vampire to interview.

I opened the door to the front sitting room only to pause at the beauty that sat across the room before me. Her dark hazel blue eyes twinkled and her auburn hair glistened. For the first time in years my immortal heart skipped a beat. The sharp gasp she took told me I surprised her.
