Everyone in my entourage could hear Azereen cry and it broke my heart that she was this upset. I climbed into the car and scooted next to her, noticing right away that Kenzie wasn't here. I pulled Azereen into my arms.

"Shhhh, sweet heart," I rubbed her back softly and comfortingly, "It'll be ok." At least I hoped so. I still couldn't believe this happened.

I didn't want Kenzie to know this life. My secret existence with my daughter and my people. I didn't want her to have to live in our world but to have a future of her own in hers.

Unfortunately, she had to show up and catch Azereen's very first live catch. What was I to do with her once we were settled back home and how was I going to explain things to her?

Sniffling, Azereen peered up, showing me those beautiful eyes that were usually blue but were now grey tainted red. "I am so sorry Daddy..."

"No, no... Don't be sorry sweetheart. We didn't know she was coming," I tried to calm her.

"She won't love me anymore," she buried her head into my chest.

I stroked her hair now and sighed. "Yes, she will my love. It may take some time for her to calm down but I bet you anything she will still love you!"

She gave me a small smile and I returned one. "That's my girl, now dry your eyes, I need to talk with Blaine real fast."

I dialed Blaine's preprogrammed number and he answered before the first ring was finished.

"Yes, sir?" he answered.

"Where is Kenzie? I thought I told you to put her in my car," a little agitation laced my voice.

"Yes, Lord Drayven," he answered, keeping up formalities in front of others. "I put her in your Bugatti."

"Fine," thankfully he knew not to throw her in with the feeders, "I actually meant the limo but that's alright."

"Would you like me to switch her to the limo?"

"No... We are almost ready to depart. We need to reach the portal first before others arrive." I didn't want to sit in traffic as other vampires were traveling home and thankfully my crew knew this. Just a few more hours and we would be home in our own realm where memories still haunt me and old problems as well as new ones plague me.
