Vampires can sense each other's presence. But Hansel has a special ability. He can sense what's coming. This is what he's doing that's why we dodged almost every vampires we encountered guarding the castle.

''Malayo pa ba tayo?'' Tanong ko sa maingat na tono.

But every time we go up another floor, Hansel started to have a hard time focusing on finding ILion.

And I have a bad feeling about it.

Ipinikit ni Hansel ang kanyang mga mata at muling hinanap ang presensya ni ILion. ''Huh?!'' Napamulat siyang bigla at bakas sa kanya ang magkahalong takot, at pagkagulat.

''W-Why? What did you see?'' Nag-aalala kong tanong. Mukhang may hindi magandang nangyayari.

Tumitig siya sa mga mata ko bago nagsalita. ''This place. I can sense danger.'' Seryoso ang kanyang pananalita at parang nagpa-panic na siya sa loob.

Hansel is not the type of vampire who can fight. He can only use his power for support and healing.

''I can sense His Highness, Kurasuma-dono, and Kuromaro-dono. But the vampires they brought with them disappeared in an instant! Now there's only the three of them. Sorrounded!'' He's having a hard time breathing so he untied his necktie. ''I can sense bloodlust, their desire to kill, and their hunger. It's my first time seeing them. T-They're not just vampires.'' Nakasabunot ang mga kamay sa kanyang buhok na paliwanag.

''Hey calm down. Hansel. Calm down.'' Niyakap ko siya para pagaanin ang loob niya. He's hyperventilating. I shouldn't have let him acompany me!

Furthermore, I can't protect him. We can't continue if he's like this. I have to make him leave this place.

''We have to ask for help. You should go back and tell others about this,'' payo ko. This is all we can do.

''B-But what about you? His Highness ordered me to--''

''This is beyond what he told you to do. Importante para sa'kin na hindi ka masaktan. I know you can't fight.'' Hindi ako papayag na masaktan ang isa sa mga kasamahan ni ILion para lang protektahan ako. ''Please go. I can handle myself. Go back to the palace and send reinforcements. You're the only one who can do it right now.''

Parang gumuho ang kanyang mundo nang tumitig siyang muli sa mga mata ko. I know he doesn't want to do it, but we have no choice.

''Can you tell me where they are? I have to warn them.''

Batid ko na nalalaman na ito ngayon ni ILion at ng iba. They're powerful vampires. But I want to know who's the master of those beasts that Hansel saw.

''They're at the top of this castle. More level E vampires are guarding the floors and stairs. You can't go there Lady Sophia. Let's go back together.''

''I can't! ILion needs me. Believe me, I can protect myself.''

Hindi rin nagtagal at sumuko din sa pamimilit si Hansel. Hindi ako babalik ng hindi kasama si ILion!

''Then please take this with you,'' sabi niya tsaka may inabot na isang kutsilyo. ''Use this to protect yourself. But please try your best to avoid them,'' wika niya tsaka kinuha ang kamay ko tsaka ibinigay sa akin ang kutsilyo. ''It may look like a simple knife, but it can be useful at times like these.''
