The morning air was cold. Freezing in fact. Everyone was awake to wish Loui farewell. He stood outside the house on the grass. Violet, Rose, and Jasper stood next to his father and Penelope. Topaz was nowhere to be seen, which disappointed him. He wanted to tell her goodbye.
Violet hugged him tightly. "Be careful......"
"I will......" he patted her back. Rose joined the hug.
"Please come home safe...." she squeezed his torso. He smiled down at her. Jasper almost tackled him.
"Do you really have to go?!"
"Yes Jas...." Jasper started crying. Penelope walked up to her and tried to calm her down. Benjamin walked over when the girl's let go of his son.
"I'm proud of you....."
"Love you dad...."
"I love you too....and for god's sake don't get yourself killed." Topaz was still nowhere in sight.
"I'll try not to...." he laughed a little. His father grinned, teary eyed.
"Stay strong for us.......we're rooting for you....."
