Celestial Academy: Silver Eyed

Chapter 37

I stepped forward and I almost flinched when the turrets followed my movement. I can also still feel the presence of dark magic directed at us and the penetrating gaze of those creatures or people with bloody red eyes.

I closed my eyes tightly, maintained my breathing and tried to push away the panic, fear, and pressure so that I can think clearly. But the pressure on me still doesn't fade and I can't help it. If we fail, we wouldn't die because this is just an elimination, a test, but it also means it's game over. We will be transported back in the Academy and I wouldn't be able to locate the Demon or help protect others. Yes, there's also Nathan and his companions Blane, Laurence and Lawrence but I shouldn't take any chances and take this situation lightly. This could get worse.

I heaved a sigh and tried to remember everything that I've learned. I remember when Mommy Rhea were scolding me, telling me to scan books especially that strengthens my mentality even if its my free time. Mommy Rhea has been my mother and my trainer since when I was an orphan. I trust her, I trust everything that she has passed unto me. But more than that, I trust myself. And I believe that's the most important thing.

"You shall answer 5 riddles correctly. Fail, and die." I heard the robotic's voice said.

I'm not sure if the robotic voice or the door can see me but I held myself high and confidently nod. This would be the point that my mental capabilities including my knowledge and intelligence would manifest or be measured.

"First riddle: You can see me in water but I never get wet. What am I?"

I almost rolled my eyes when I heard the question. I don't know if this door or whatever this fucking thing is is underestimating my knowledge or what.

"A Reflection." I firmly said.

Seconds after, there was a loud noise signalling that I got it right.

"Correct."

The first question was too easy but I didn't let loose and still focused on the upcoming questions. I shouldn't take this lightly. I may be calm but I still feel my body tensing a couple of times. The pressure is still there.

"Second riddle: What belongs to you but others use it more than you do?"

I breathe in and out and closed my eyes. I calmly scanned the entirety of my mind and remember everything that's been taught to me and everything that I read.

After a while, I opened my eyes and stared at the door. "My name." I confidently said.

Nilingon ko naman sina Thalia, Clarisse at Jessica at hindi nga ako nagkakamali. Their expressions were a bit horrified. Thalia is almost shaking, fear evident in her eyes. Clarisse's body were so rigid and tensed while Jessica were almost unaffected but I can see clearly the emotions swirling in her eyes. 

I smiled at them reassuringly to ease their worry and mouthed I got this.
