Chapter 40

Everything were in a haze. But I remembered that there was a blinding light. A blinding golden light. I unconsciously raised my hand to block my squinting eyes but I was surprised my eyes doesn't feel hurt from the direct blinding light rather, it was comforting. I tried to see it clearly but what I can only make out is that the form of the light is like of a human's.

I lost track of time staring at it when it suddenly burst asunder, then a woman appeared. I gasp and feel like I can't breathe anymore for the perfect epitome of beauty is already standing meters away from me. She's tall, elegant and regal. She started walking towards me then little by little I started noticing a lot of things from her. Her eyes were sharp and calculating yet it brought comfort through me. She walked with so much precision and elegance even a royalty will be embarrassed. Then my eyes darted from her dress. Her dress that's shimmering like a diamond. My eyes squinted then I shook my head because I was momentarily confused. Her dress seemed as if its shifting with different color every second passes by. It's like it's absorbing and reflecting different colors every second.

Even her skin, looks too soft, perfect or I must say, flawless that makes it glisten. She looked so ethereal and . . . . inhuman. If I haven't thought of Nathan saying that gods and goddesses stopped appearing and interfering with us, I'd think of her as a goddess.

The next thing I knew, she's already in front of me. I was so surprised I took a step back or two. Her face were devoid of any emotion but her eyes were filled with . . . a lot of things that I can't fathom. It brought comfort yet it looks like she wanted to say a lot of things but she isn't allowed to or she can't. Looking at her closely, I realized I wasn't just feeling comfort . . . but a sense of familiarity. I feel like I knew her but the thing is, this is the first time I've seen her. Like what the hell? If I've seen her even once, It would be impossible for me to forget her entire being, her flawlessness and her perfection!

She stared at me, and I did the same. Then I realized I am still holding my breath. I exhaled and inhaled deeply then I looked at her questioningly. I can't seem to voice out my unsorted questions. I feel like I'd stutter and my voice would waver. Then she suddenly touched me, I barely noticed the softness of her skin because there was something that burst within me. Her smell, her touch and her whole being suddenly reminded me of a lot of things. The seemingly infinite beautiful sky, the vastness of the lands, the trees, flowers, the large water bodies, the ocean, the lake, and waterfalls. I was reminded of nature, even volcanoes, the fire, the heat of the sun, the north and south pole and lastly the absence of heat. 

Then I suddenly stepped back, away from her touch. Her touch made a stream of memories to surge within me. Memories of relief, memories of nature. I don't know what's happening anymore. A sudden realization hit me. Where am I? Who is this woman standing before me? The woman in front of me immediately noticed my expression. She smiled at me reassuringly, suddenly calmness slowly washed over me.

"Do not fret. Do not fear me. It would be bad if you do." I gasp. Her voice . . . I fee like I already heard her voice . . . somewhere. The sense of familiarity is becoming prominent now but everything were still in a haze. I feel like I really knew her, I just can't remember.

Her voice the soothes every vein in my body, every tissues, every blood as in everything! Her voice that made me think of nature. I shook my head, shit! I'm having a headache!
