Was it just my imagination? Huminga ako ng malalaim at napailing. That would be impossible. Kung totoo ngang imahinasyon ko lang 'yon, hindi magiging ganon ang reaksyon ng katawan ko sa napaka-makapangyarihang presensyang 'yon. Pero kung hindi nga talaga, sino 'yon?

"Athena? What's taking you so long?" I almost flinched when a cold voice spoke behind me. My body almost suddenly tingled. Lumingon ako at natauhan ng makita kong si sir Deimos 'yon.

"I . . . a-ah," I stuttered. Halos hindi ako makabigkas ng salita kaya umiling na lang ako at mabilis na pumasok sa battle ground number 2. I scanned the entire area. Kasing laki lang ata ito ng dalawang basketball court. Hindi ko alam kung advantage ba para sakin ang ganitong battlefield o hindi lalo na at hindi ko alam kung ano ang ability o magic ng magiging kalaban ko.

Lumapat ang mata ko sa kalaban kong si Selena Arkael. Kumunot ang noo ko nang makita kong naka-robe at cloak lang siya. That's never a good choice to wear especially that we'll be having our battles. It will only hinder her movements.

Don't be fooled by your opponent's appearance. Bigla bigla na lang pumasok sa isipan ko yung sinabi ni sir Deimos. Napatango tango ako. Nag-panggap bilang bata si sir Deimos nung unang humarap siya sa'min kaya pinagtawanan siya ng kaklase ko. Ayon tuloy, nasuntok at tumilapon agad.

Nagseryoso ako nang may pumutok sa bandang itaas namin na dilaw na ilaw na galing kay sir Deimos; hudyat na magsimula na kaming makipaglaban. I suddenly felt the heavy atmosphere. My body started to tense. I reach for my katana that was already summoned on the strap of my combat suit. Sinubukan ko muna siyang basahin at obserbahan.

She's petite, probably 5'4, but she has this air of confidence around her that also emits a warning: don't mess with me. Since she's still a yellow-green eyed mage, the color of her hair is still normal. It was dark, complementing her pale complexion. Tinitigan ko siya sa mata at muntik na akong mapamura. Based on the look she's giving me, it's clear that she's studying me too. She also has this aura of intelligence which is clearly manifested on her eyes. 

Hindi magiging madali ang laban na 'to. I suddenly got frustrated. Gusto ko sanang matapos agad ang laban na 'to dahil lumilipad na kung saan saan ang utak ko. Bigla nanaman pumasok sa isipan ko ang mga matang 'yon. That piercing golden eyes that affected me so much I wasn't able to breathe. Napapikit ako nang mariin. I am certainly sure na isa 'yon sa mga Deity. And it's also possible that it was my mother--- I mean . . . mommy Rhea. However, it's also possible that it's another Deity that I don't know of. But, why?

My eyes snapped open when I sensed a fast movement coming from my direction. Pagbukas na pagbukas pa lang ng mata ko, sinalubong na agad ako ng dagger na mahigpit na hawak ni Selena; aiming for my throat. She's fast. My eyes widen but my body moved on it's own. I sidestepped and met her dagger with my katana.

"You seem distracted." Her tone was dry. There was no hint of friendliness or threat in it. It was almost monotone. I answered her by pulling my katana between the collision with her dagger. I crouched, flipped my wrist together with the hilt of my blade aiming for her legs. She dodged and jumped back with ease. I didn't gave her the time to relax. I swiftly lunge at her, maneuvering my body while jumping. I twist my hips and my legs adding strength to my releasing blow then I swung my blade downwards. I hissed when she just jumped back. My blade hit the pavement instead then the latter cracked.

Mabilis akong tumayo from my crouched position and swiftly ran towards her. I slid on the ground aiming  for her legs again. She brought down two of her daggers blocking my strike, her arms outstretched while her body was now hovering on the air. Her cloak and robe fluttered. Her movements were so fast I almost didn't notice her left hand until she released it and threw another set of daggers in my direction.
