"I know your minds and your bodies might be exhausted now because of these information. But remember, everything shall remain a secret. If these gets out, I'll be the one to punish you all." Her tone was dry but it held warning and authority that sent chills down our spine. She nodded to all of us, "You may now leave. You still have several hours to rest before the Rank Match will start."
My body felt heavy and tired, my mind confused and in a haywire. Hindi ko na alam kung ano bang iisipin o gagawin ko. I just want to rest and sleep. I feel like I'm near breaking down. Fighting to protect the people and have my vengeance is one thing, but leading an army without the Deities? That's hell beyond my expectation.
The others exited silently, they too are obviously absorbed with their own thoughts especially about the impending war. We will be fighting without much guidance, we will be fighting leading an army, and we were told that we are the next generation and the only possible hope. In just a short span of time, a heavy weight with so much pressure were put unto our shoulders. I don't think I can handle this anymore.
I realized that I spaced out for a while, all of them were out already. I heaved a deep sigh and turn around to exit when Seraphea called me. I looked at her over my shoulder.
"Can you stay for a while?" She asked. I nodded. I walked towards her and decided to sit on the couch. My knees were slightly trembling, I don't want to suddenly fall especially now that she's called me to stay for a while. Perhaps, she needs to say something to me that only I shall know.
The Headmaster and Sir Deimos rose from their seats, "Alright, we shall leave the two of you for a while." After that, sir Deimos flicked his hand. The door closed and lock on it's own then the two of them proceeded to the secret wall.
I faced Seraphea when she heaved a sigh. The next thing I knew, I'm already facing a woman having a soft yet weary expression, her eyes longing and filled with concern. Hostile and devoid of any emotions with calculating and analyzing eyes were long gone. Seraphea had just shown me her real side, pulling down the veil that hides her real emotions.
I must say, she's impressive. She's adept at hiding her emotions because I know, It's also a part of her defense mechanism.
I almost flinched when she sat beside me and reached for my hands. I was slightly taken aback because she looked like she's about to burst in tears. "Can I hug you?" She asked, her voice having a slight tremble. I was hesitant but I nodded.
I was suddenly enveloped in a tight embrace. I was shocked when her body started shaking, and that's when I realize that she's crying. I don't know what's going on but I just stayed still and tried to comfort her by caressing her back. This just manifests that, no matter how strong or tough a person is, there are still times that we break down. We feel pain and anguish because we have feelings and emotions, after all, we are just humans. We may control it at some point, but if we keep on suppressing it, it would just pile inside of us and time will come that we'll need to let it all out. Crying doesn't mean we are weak, it just means that we have been strong for too long.
