"Any luck hacking Cadmus?" I asked, walking up from behind Winn. He was furiously typing on the keyboard, his eyes locked on the screen ahead of him. His hair was a complete mess. I could see his reflection in the computer screen, and I sighed at the sight of his red eyes.
"We've gotten nowhere." He announced. "They have so many firewalls up, it's like they build back up after I knock one down."
"How long have you been at this?" I questioned.
"When did I call you?"
"Around nine last night," I answer.
"Then, since nine last night," He grumbled. I sighed.
"Winn." J'onn walked up from behind us. "Do you have anything?"
"I just said no!" Winn exclaimed. "Gosh, don't you have super hearing?"
He put his elbows on the desk and rubbed his eyes. Winn softly sight, before turning back to us.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," He mutters. "It's been a long night for Winn."
"Agent Schott, do you need a break?" J'onn asked. "Because I don't think we have time for you to complain and then fail because you've overworked yourself."
"Yes," Winn replied. "But what about the list? I can't just stop."
"I think that if you can't do it within twelve hours, it's nearly impossible," Alex chimed in, walking up from behind us. "You can continue once you've taken a nap and had a shower."
"Thank you," Winn whispers, standing up. He stumbled across the room, walking to the lockers where he could grab new clothes.
Alex sighed, and leaned against the counter in the center of the room. J'onn and I turned towards her.
Guilt gathered in my stomach. I glanced at Alex, remembering the events of the previous day. It was hard for me. I couldn't imagine what it was like for her. She'd lost all faith in her father.
"You okay?" J'onn says. "You went through quite the ordeal yesterday. We all did."
"I'll be fine," Alex assures him. "Can we focus on the fact that every alien in the country is in danger, please?"
"Of course." J'onn nods.
"Look, Alex, can I talk to you?" I suddenly said to her. A semi-surprised look on her face, she nodded.
