"Wait, wait wait," Mon-El laughed. "You lost your boss's son?"
"Yes," I smiled. He laughed even harder, struggling to catch his breathe. "What's so funny?"
"Nothing, it just seems like the opposite of what you'd do," He chuckled.
"Well, it'd been a very long day," I giggled. "And it helped that he had a crush on me to convince his mother not to fire me."
Mon-El's laughter grew.
"He had a crush on you?" He stuttered. "Did he have kryptonite or something?"
"Oh my gosh." I whispered. "After all of this time of me asking you if you have a crush on you, no one has explained it to you yet?"
"Well--um--no," Mon-El stated. He leaned across my desk, his eyes pouring into mine. Our faces were inches apart.
"What does it mean?" He mumbled.
"To care for someone," I replied, quiet enough for only him to hear me, "--like I care for you."
He smiled, and filled the space between us by putting a firm kiss on my lips. I hummed happily as I kissed back, electricity running up and down my spine.
"I guess I have a crush on you then." He muttered. I smiled.
We pulled away and he leaned back into his seat. I grabbed another potsticker and put it in my mouth. My mood had improved since he'd arrived. I was incredibly grateful that he'd showed up.
There was a knock on my door. I looked up and put my food down.
"Come in!" I called. The door opened slowly to reveal James.
"We need you down in the board room," He tells me. I nodded. "Hey, Mon-El. Good to see you."
He awkwardly closed the door. Mon-El turned to me, disappointment in his eyes.
"I guess I have to go now?" He asked. I nodded sadly.
"I'll see you later?" I sighed. Mon-El nodded.
He stood up and gathered all of the leftover food, putting it in the take out bag. He put on his coat quickly, and walked to the door.
"Hey!" I exclaimed. I walked around the table and kissed him softly.
