My head pounded, pain throbbing from behind my eyes. Everything was brighter, pulsing light flying across my vision. My entire body was numb, a tingling sensation overtaking my limbs. The first thing I had the ability to do was open my eyes. They snapped open, the light blinding me. A gasp escaped me, my chest heaving in and out.
A blurry shadow loomed over me. I blinked, thinking that the dark figure would disappear. It did not. Instead, it circled me. My vision began to clear. My breathing became more labored. Fear overtook me.
"Miss?" The shadow says. "Are you okay?"
I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. Instead, I groaned softly.
"I think she's hurt," another shadow hung over me. "Call the other guards. Take her to the infirmary."
I felt paralyzed as a bunch of men picked me up, carrying me away. I wanted to punch and scream, run and find Mon-El. But it seemed like my body had stopped working for me.
"We're going to help you, Ma'am. Don't worry."

The world cleared as I opened my eyes. I must've passed out after the guards had taken me away.
I was laying on a medical cot in a circular room, red sun beams streaking through the giant window. My hair was spread on to my shoulders. Daxamite medical gear surrounded me, all working to make sure I was alive. Footsteps echoed the hall as someone walked into the room. My eyes focused on whoever it was.
Winn?
"Winn?" I mumbled. I shifted in the bed. "How are you here?"
"You know my name?" He asked. I closed my eyes, breathing out. He doesn't know who I am. This is part of the dream. I reminded myself.
"What happened?" I say. "Where am I?"
"The royal palace," Winn announces. "We found you outside. . .you seemed injured. The doctor kept you here, saying he wanted to make sure you'd wake up."
"Oh," I sighed. "Okay."
"The royal family would like to meet you," He added. "It's not every day that they find an unconscious girl's outside the palace walls."
"Lovely," I whispered. There was no way in hell I wanted to meet the royal family. "When would they like to see me?"
