// Mon-El \\
I stared as my parents walked back out of the room, talking in hushed voices. They had always been disgusted by Kryptonians, but their reaction to one being found outside the palace walls was strange. Krypton has a stronger army than us--they knew that. They would never do anything to start another war, and messing with someone from the House of El was just that.
I brushed off the strange feeling in my stomach though. I got up, and began to walk out of the Grand Room. The door opened just a crack, and Winn walked in.
"Winn," I state.
"Hello, Your Majesty," He stutters. "How may I help you?"
"My parents mentioned something about a Kryptonian wishing to speak to me?" I questioned.
"Oh, yes, but she has been removed," Winn assured me. "Do not worry."
"Won't this start war?" I asked. "The House of El will not be happy."
"War?" Winn scoffed. "We practically own Krypton after winning the last war."
"We did not win the last war," I argued. "No one did. We called truce."
"You humor me, prince," Winn laughs. "We won the war a long time ago. Krypton is now our labor planet."
No, it's not. I thought. We called a truce. I remembered that distinctly. My parents had always taught me to believe Krypton was awful--our enemy-- but also that I should never commit an act of war.
Winn walked away, chuckling to himself. He obviously thought I was joking.
What was going on?
I slowly made my way to the door of the Grand Room, pulling the doorknob. I made sure to shut it silently, so that no one would be able to tell if I had been leaving. I walked down the hallway, making my way towards the exit of the palace.

I put my head back against the Daxamite brick, groaning. I winced as pain shot through my skull. I'd hit the ground hard when they'd thrown me outside.
They had literally thrown me.
I let a shaky breath escape me. I had no plan. I couldn't talk to Mon-El without being in the palace. And I didn't even want to think about the fact that I wasn't in his perfect fantasy.
