_____________ // Kara Danvers \\
I woke up the next morning to the sweet smell of fruit, wafting across my loft. I opened my eyes. I sighed, moving my hands across the wool blanket on my lap. I was still on the couch– I had fallen asleep with Mon-El last night.
I sat up, turning my head towards the smell. I could see him standing above my stove, flipping a pancake. A small smile danced on my lips.
I stood up, and slowly made my way to him. I wrapped my arms around his middle section, and rested my head on his shoulder.
"Good morning," I sighed.
"Same to you, babe," Mon-El states. He turned around.
"What are you making?" I asked.
"Well, originally it was supposed to be breakfast in bed," He explained. "Or, couch. But, it was supposed to be a surprise. You ruined it."
"Sorry," I laughed. "You know that you could never keep me away from food."
"I should've known that you would've woken up to the smell of bacon," Mon-El muttered. I gasped, pushing him out of the way. I greedily grabbed the bacon off the steaming pan, stuffing it into my mouth. He laughed.
"I also should've known that you would eat the bacon before breakfast was ready," Mon-El added. I nodded, agreeing.
I sat down at the dining table, watching him as he cooked. His hair was ruffled from sleep. Mon-El stood in a dark shirt and jeans. He wore my pink apron. It was a comical sight— seeing him in that outfit. It made me smile.
"And, breakfast is served!" He exclaimed, turning around. He placed a plate in front of me.
I have never been more impressed.
There was perfectly cut strawberries and watermelon sitting on the side. A blueberry pancake sat in the center, chocolate sauce sliding off the side. A poached egg was next to it. A fork, wrapped in a napkin, sat next to it. It was restaurant style food.
"You made this?!" I exclaimed. "Where did you learn to poach an egg?"
"Apparently, books are more helpful than the internet," Mon-El informed me. "Sometimes."
"Well, this is incredible," I announced. "Thank you!"
I smiled up at him, sticking a strawberry in my mouth. Mon-El leaned down on the counter, resting his chin on his palm.
