"Kara," Mon-El's voice yelled at me, quivering, through the comm. "You need to get out of there. Now."

"No," I breathe. "There's no time. I have to do this."

"Kara, you're going to get hurt," Alex's voice popped up. "You can't stay there."

"I have no choice!" I yelled, arguing. "Get to your locations before it's too late."

"Kara!" Alex snapped. "Get to another bomb."

"Alex, no," I groaned. "I can do this, I promise."

There was a silent, menacing pause. I was still gripping my torso. The lightheadedness was still there, threatening me at every moment.

"Can I talk to Kara on a private line, please?" Mon-El finally whispered.

"Sure," Alex sighed. She didn't sound pleased. "We're heading to our locations. Are you at a safe checkpoint, Mon-El?"

"Yeah, I'm okay," He replied. "Good luck, Alex. Stay safe."

"You too," She muttered. My heart rate increased at the sound of them getting along. I could hear Alex's line click off, leaving Mon-El and I alone.

"What's up?" I say, my voice gentle.

"I can't lose you," He stated, almost right away. There was no greeting. Mon-El rushed his words, as if he had a limited amount of time to say what he was saying. "Kara, I can't lose you."

"You're not going to lose me, Mon-El," I assured him. "I already told you, I'm not--"

"I'm not telling you to move," Mon-El interrupts me. "I just want you to know how much you mean to me. I care about you more than anyone in this entire universe. So I can't lose you."

"I can't lose you either," I say back. "And you won't lose me. I promise."

"Okay," He breathes. "You're so important to me."

"So are you," I reply.

There was a moment of quietness. I bit my lip, looking to the sky. I didn't want this to be the last conversation I had with him.

I couldn't die.

Alex's comm clicked back online, alerting us that she was now listening in on our conversation.

"J'onn dropped us off at our locations," She announced. "Everyone is ready. I'm connecting everyone to the line. Winn's gonna guide us through it."

"Mmhmm," I hummed, grimacing. The throbbing in my head and stomach continued. "Can we hurry, please?"

"You okay, Kara?" J'onn asked.

"The Kryptonite hurts my stomach and my head," I explain. "I'll be fine."

"Kara," Mon-El's tone was worrisome.

"Okay, guys," Winn's voice pops up. "I'm going to explain what to do now, and you must follow my directions exactly as I say them."

There was a series of agreements, everyone mumbling under their breathes. The tension in everyone's voices could be heard- they were all nervous.

"You're going to lift the top of the bomb off, and push the blue switch down for two seconds."

I did as he told me, wincing at the click that the metal contraption made. I carefully placed my finger on the blue button, and counted to two. I lifted it, and held it to my stomach.

"Now, you have to pull the green wire from the socket."

I carefully reached my hand down into the bomb. My arm nearly touched the Kryptonite cluster, causing my arm to burn. I pulled the wire from where it connected to the bomb. It hissed as I pulled it out.

"Take the green wire and hold it against the palm of your hand for forty five seconds. This is to cool it down and stop the flow of electricity. It'll burn, but it's the only way."

My eyes widened. I held the wire above my hand, closing my eyes. I slowly applied the small, mint colored tube to my skin. There was a hot, tingling sensation shooting up my fingers and arms. An intense pain exploded from my hand. I whimpered, biting my lip.

I counted to forty five, breathing in and out as steadily as I could.  The pain was awful.

"Now you're going to have to switch the green and red wires. This will change the energy in the red, and completely stop the energy in the green."

I quickly grabbed the red wire, and replaced it with the green one. I then put the red wire into the green slot. I slammed the cover to the bin on, and stepped back.

"It's over," Winn finally announced. "You're done."

I sighed in relief, smiling. I could get away from the Kryptonite.

But spots began to flood my vision again. The world around me began to spin. My eyelids got droopy. My arms and legs grew heavier. I couldn't walk.

I became very tired. I tried to stay awake, but black began to melt into my eyes. I fell to the ground, unconscious.

______________

The monitors around me beeped. My hand was wrapped around something. I felt scratchy sheets underneath me.

I was in a hospital bed. My eyes shot open, panicked. For a moment, I couldn't remember what happened. But then the memories of the Kryptonite bombs and Cadmus came flooding back. I sighed.

The world began to focus around me. The thing my hand was wrapped inside was Mon-El's hand. He was holding them in his two hands, clutching them. He was kneeling down by my bed, looking at me. Mon-El smiled at the sight of me awake. Alex was on the bed next to me, sitting next to Barry.

"Hey, Supergirl," Mon-El chuckled softly. "You're awake."

"Thank goodness," Alex breathes. "They said you were going to be okay, but--"

"I just passed out from being weak," I assumed. "It makes sense. Kryptonite isn't exactly my best friend."

"It's good to see that you're okay," Barry exclaims. My eyes were locked on Mon-El.

"I didn't lose you," He whispers.

"You'll never lose me."
