I felt the smile on my face grow bigger, Tae's face lit up when he saw Marquez walk behind me into the kitchen. But then, reality set in,  my baby would never light up like that for Kennon ever again. I became sad, but I played it cool. "Hey babe, do you want meatballs or just regular spaghetti?" Marquez was playing around with Tae, so I guess he didn't hear me, so I just made what I know my baby boy likes which is spaghetti and meatballs, I went into full mommy mode. I told the boys to go into the front room so I could get things started. I was left alone to my thoughts, I put on my headphones and listened to Chris Brown, he always made me feel better. As I swayed to the music, I couldn't help but think about what Marquez and I shared. I loved him, I really did but, some of the shit he did was suspect. I couldn't put my finger on it but it was something. I thought about calling that detective.Maybe, looking deeper into this investigation myself. I had to get Kennon out of my mind, I texted Kennon's  sister Keyona, "Hey, Key I'm so sorry about Kenn. um when are the services?" "Hey sis, it's good we gonna find out who done it feel me? I miss my nephew, I miss you too. We need to talk ma, I gotta tell you some tea." I knew what that meant, that meant she was either going to come over here or I'd have to go to her. "Give me 15 minutes and I'll meet you at Starbucks" she was down to meet. I knew there was something up, I texted Latrice first. And, then my mom, Latrice was the diversion and my mom was the baby sitter. Now, I had to get rid of Marquez. "Hey babe?" I waited, "Yeah" "I need to take Tae to my mom's house and I have a few errands to run. Want to put a hold on dinner and meet at the steakhouse later?" "Hell yeah, that's a bet" good now my plan was in motion. I knew he was going to ask me 51 questions about where I was going, so Latrice came through​ with the diversion.  She and I were gonna meet up with Keyona and chat but she was going to take me in her car so there wouldn't be any GPS tracking. I showered and got dressed,got Tae ready for my mom and was about to head out the door when I saw Latrice's number flash on my phone "Bitch we have a problem" oh shit what now?! "What you mean?" "Girl Rico talking about I can't leave the house because, we need some sexual time. You know I can't say no bitch" I wanted to strangle her. "Fine, I'll go by myself. I can't stand you right now". I hung up on her, I won't lie I was nervous about meeting Keyona by myself but, shit what's the worse that could happen? After I dropped off Tae, I went straight to the Starbucks and saw Keyona in her car. I texted her "Key I see you, hahaha" she looked around and smiled at me. She hopped out the car, and walked towards the car, I got out and hugged her tight. "I miss you sis,  even though you and my brother didn't stay together. We always gon be cool​." I just smiled and nodded. I told her we weren't​ going inside so we went and sat in her car. "Alright sis,  let me give you this tea. First of all it was a set up, I guess this young nigga named Snoop was playing both sides. He was cool with Rico and Kennon,  once they fell out, he started fucking​ with this other dude, some Puerto Rican dude. So, the Puerto Rican dude is in this gang, he told Snoop he didn't like Rico and he wanted to kill him. Kennon put Rico up on game, and of course he didn't believe him. So now Snoop goes back to dude and tells him that Kennon was gonna snitch. Next thing we know, Kennon is dead and Snoop is missing. Funny thing is people keep telling me it was an inside job" I sat there shocked, I knew who she was talking about. I knew, that Kennon hadn't been as trifling as I thought and now someone wants to kill my brother. "That's crazy Key, I'm speechless" "Look, Shanti. Get out of town, it ain't safe right now foreal". I really was at a loss for words "Key,  I think I know who the Puerto Rican dude is." I sure did, he's Marquez's boss!

I'll be damn I had second thoughts about telling her who the Puerto Rican dude was but I had to do something my stomach was turning and it was in knots I tried not to show it on my face but Keyona could tell that I was sick. "Sis are you okay?" I tried to play it off like nothing was wrong I took a deep breath and smiled. "Girl I'm fine it's just the baby messing with me you know how that is." Keyona looked at me with a surprised look on her face as if she'd just been told the greatest news ever. "Sis I didn't know that you were pregnant congratulations!" I thanked her then we talked some more but in the back of my mind I kept thinking about Marquez's boss how could he do this? Then I thought well hell he does this all the time so why am I trippin' but then I begin to wonder if Marquez knew anything about Rico and Kennon and if he deliberately did this, The sun had began to set so I told Keyona that I had to get back to her nephew we hugged and told each other that we'd keep in touch then we went our separate ways. As I got in the car I couldn't start it right away I couldn't get it off my mind what Keyona had said about it being a setup then to top it off I'm with the man who probably knows all about it, I was snapped out of my thoughts when my phone rang I looked down at my phone to see Marquez calling. "Hello?" "Babe where are you at?" "I'm on my way sorry." "Aight." Marquez hung up and I sighed then drove off towards the steakhouse but all I could think about is what Key said what was I gonna do now? I pulled up at the steakhouse then got out but my mind was all over the place but I tried my best not to think about anything that Key and I talked about but I knew that it would be impossible.
