Fifteen

Jo's pov

I sat in homeroom, there's a meeting about bullying or something? I sat next to Harry, he's so cute. I wanna be his friend, but I'm scared to talk to him. I don't know why, maybe it's cause I have a crush on him? That's probably it.

Layla, Tilly, Miles and I sat in the corner, Harry to my left. Layla motioned for me to lean in so she could whisper in my ear.
"That Harry boy that you like keeps looking at you, don't look now, it'll be obvious that we were talking about him" I nod and kind of blush, Tilly nudging my side and they all laugh.

I sat there just playing on my phone while the teacher talked on how this one kid handed in an anonymous note saying that they don't feel safe cause they're being bullied or some bs.

I remember what Layla said and I glanced over at Harry. We meet eyes and I smile, he looks away and kind of starts to blush, me doing the same.

"We need to get you guys together." Miles says in my ear, leaning over his desk to get to me.
"If you do, do it fast" I laughed and zoned back out.

      The meeting ends at we just have to chill until the hour is done, I sit with my friends just talking about the school gossip, the most popular couple had just broken up, I'm not too surprised though.

     I feel a soft tap on my shoulder and I turn around, my eyes meeting Harry's.
"Hi Jo" he says and sits beside me
"Hi Harry" I say getting happy, he wants to talk to me!
"You're Blaire's little sister right?" I nod
"That I am. And you're Gemma's right?" I already know the answer.
"I mean I hope not, I'm a boy" he laughs and I shake my head
"You know what I mean Harry" I say rolling my eyes
"Yea I'm Gemma's little brother" he makes sure to say brother slower and louder.

    We continue talking, me getting cut off by the bell.
"Well, I'll talk to you later." He said picking up his binders
"I'm looking forward to the car ride home" I say sarcastically, obviously joking.

    It's the second day of school, so I haven't gotten a ride home, yesterday my dad picked me up cause school ended early, I'm really looking forward for the 20 minutes car ride home everyday.

Harry's pov

I hear a light knock coming from the door, I let go of Jo's hand to go see who it is. As soon as I let go of her hand, her eyebrows furrow, I kiss her forehead and tell her I'll only be a couple of minutes.

I open the door to Mr Roberts holding a single flower in his hand.
"May I come in" I nod and walk back to Jo's side, grabbing her hand and seeing her eyebrows return to where they usually are on her beautiful face. The doctors say they're going to wake her up soon, I still don't know why they're keeping her sedated.

Mr R handed me a folder full of papers and he set the flower in a cup that was left on the table after filling it with water. I open the folder curiously, I see some papers with my name on them from all of my classes. Yay. Homework.

I toss the folder on the table beside me, I'm not going to do it, I can't even think straight.
"I'm not expecting you to do it, you're obviously not in the right state of mind" he says as he rubs my back, comforting me

"Thanks Mr R" I say and I look up at him
"Call me Jace" he says and I nod, he turns to leave, I feel my eyes getting heavier and heavier with every second that passes.

I've been sleeping beside Jo's bed a lot, there's not much to do in here and I'm not about to leave Jo's hospital room. What if something happens? Good or bad? I'd hate myself if I missed anything.

"Oh by the way Harry, I suspended Lexi. We're even looking into a full expulsion. I talked to a couple kids from the gym that day, they all say she walked up and yelled at you and her, and well you know" he looked to the ground while talking, but looked up at me when he finished, smiling slightly.

I stood up and hugged him, he has done a lot for me in this situation, I can't thank him enough. I quietly thank him and I show him out, he says he'll be back in a few days to see how Jo's doing. He leaves and I return to my spot on the chair next to Jo's bed, my hand in hers.

Besides the hella uncomfortable chair I'm in, I'm comfortable, I'm so tired I feel my eyes being weighed down by gravity and I am met with another dream of me and Jo

My ears are filled with doctors talking loudly and a steady beep. I instantly know what that is. I've been staying in a hospital long enough.

My eyes shoot open as I see all the doctors surrounding Jo. I look at the heart rate monitor and the little line that shows me her heart beat is flat.

I stand up and start screaming for Jo to wake up. One of the nurses who is helping Jo, she pulls me into the hall mumbling some bs that they're doing everything possible for her.

"Can you do me a favour and go in there and help save the love of my life please? I don't need help, I'll go and find her mom" I say and the nurse nods and returns to saving my girlfriends life.

I turn and start walking to the waiting room, tears falling down my face. I find Valerie with her face in her hands. I tap her shoulder and she stands up, hugging me.

We just stand there in the waiting room, hugging each other and crying our hearts out. We don't care if people are looking. The love of my life might die.
