Twenty Two

X Factor pt 2

I watched Harry walk out onto the stage, hearing the crowd scream. When he got to the middle, he stood there holding his mic, waiting for his time to perform.

When the intro music stopped and the crowd started to die down, he lifted the mic to his mouth
"Hello" He smiled to the judges

"Hello, it's nice to meet you. What's you name?" Simon Cowell said to Harry while looking down at a couple of papers on the table in front of him.

"I'm Harry Styles" He doesn't look as nervous as he did 20 minutes ago backstage. Maybe his excitement is starting to take over

"Ok" Simon started speaking but was cut off by the loud screams for my Harry.

"Ok Harry, how old are you?" Simon continued after the crowd died down.

"I'm 19"
"19" Simon repeated while the crowd screamed, not as loudly as the previous times though.

"Ok so tell me a bit about you" Simon kept asking Harry these questions, building up the tension in my chest

"Uumm I work in a bakery" Harry raked his mind for anything to talk about

"So you left school and went to work there yea?" Simon asked while moving his hands

"I work there on Saturdays but I go to my classes at Oxford during the week" Harry explained what his weekly schedule resembled

"What classes are you studying?" Simon asked

"Uh Lore, sociology, business and another class I have to fill, I'm not too sure yet" Harry listed off every class we were signed up for

"Wow" Simon said impressed, the crowd laughing behind him

"So what are you doing here today?" Simon moved into questions about Harry on the show, meaning Harry is going to sing any minute.

"Erm, well, I've always wanted to audition, but was always too scared. So my amazing girlfriend finally convinced me to come audition." Harry said looking over to me, smiling and waving.

"Ok, so what are you going to sing?"
"I'll do, Isn't she lovely by Stevie Wonder" Harry said into the microphone that he was holding inches from his face.

"Ok, well, good luck" Simon put he papers back on the table.

Anne pulled my into a side hug as she crossed her fingers over her chest, breathing heavily.

"Isn't she lovely" Harry's angelic voice filled the auditorium. Earning screams from the crowd in return.

"Isn't she wonderful
Isn't she precious" All of us backstage were clapping

"Less than one minute old" Anne backed us up into Robyn's chest, once again, her fingers were crossed over her chest.

"I'd never thought through love we'd be" Harry sang my favourite line of the song, his voice filling my ears as I held my eyes closed.

The crowds screams roared through the auditorium as Harry continued the song

"Making one as lovely as she,
But isn't she lovely made from love" Harry finished his little rendition of the song as the crowd roared. We were all cheering for him as he bowed a little, unsure of what to do.

Harry's pov

     I finished the part of the song that I had chosen to sing. I wasn't too sure of what to do with myself while the crowd was screaming so I just bowed awkwardly. Could they tell how nervous I was? Oh god I hope not.

"So Nicole, what do you think?" Simon turns to the lady next to him

"I'm really glad that we had the opportunity to acapella, we could really hear how great your voice is." She nods along with her sentence.

"Thank you." I nod politely before she starts speaking again.

"You have a really great voice Harry" Nicole finishes up her little review.

"Thank you" I repeat. Hopefully that's a yes from her.

"I agree with Nicole. However, I just don't think you have enough experience or confidence just yet." Louis said from his side of the table. Not expecting a yes from him. It all comes down to Simon.

"Ok" I say trying to hide my disappointment.

"Uh, yes. Somebody from the audience just said 'rubbish' and I totally agree with them." The crowd starts screaming once again and I look around the stage, looking for my Jo.

"The show is about finding people, no matter their experience or confidence levels, it doesn't matter. But I think with a bit of vocal coaching and practice, you could actually be very good." Simon finished off his mini speech with a nod.

"Thank you, thanks" I'm at a loss for words. I think I might've gotten a yes from Simon Cowell.

"Ok looouuuiis" Simon drags on the name and my heart beat starts racing. This is it.

"Gahh. Harry, for all the right reasons, I am going to say no." My chest tightens and the crowd erupts in boos.

"I don't think they boo'd you loud enough there." Simon stated smugly from his side of the judges table.

The crowd boos Louis even louder than before, me even joining in for a little boo. What else was I supposed to do?

"Nicole?" Simon asks the next judge down the line.

"I really like you Harry, I'm going to say yes" Nicole smiles as she gives me the ok to move onto the next step.

"And you'll be happy to hear, that I'm going to be agreeing with Nicole. It's a yes from me Harry" Simon says being cut off from all the screams of the happy crowd as I smile the biggest smile.

"Thank you." I can't think of anything else to say.

I walk off the stage. Being met with my beautiful family and my amazingly amazing girlfriend. They all pull me into a group hug.

When we break off from the hug, I lift Jo up by her hips and sling her around, slowly lowering her down to my lips.

"You did it" she's smiling almost as big as I am.

"I told you that you could do it." She kisses me again.

"Thank you so much for being there for me and for putting up with all my practicing and everything. I love you with every fibre of my being." I turn to my family.

"Thank you all for being here with me and for supporting me throughout my entire life" I finish and we all gather back into a group hug. I did it. I made it onto the X Factor.

Ok so I'm super late. I've just been busy, my parents surprised me with a surprise vacation and we've been having parties almost every other weekend, so obviously I was just too busy to update. But I'm finally back. Anyways, I hope y'all enjoyed, I'll see you soon my lovelies
