Mark took her face between his hand and softly kissed her lips. Please tell me I will see you as soon, as my plane lands on Irish grounds, he begged her while he wiped away her tears. Sure you will, Sheila answered. She knew it would be difficult in the time to come to see each other. Louis would do everything he could, to keep them apart. He had been very clear about that during their conversation. But Mark was determined, not to give up on her. He had told her that a thousand times already. Sheila kissed him one more time and then she walked out of the door. She knew she had one task to go, before she would leave Africa and that was the gig tonight. One time to make herself beautiful and than she would wear her old clothes again. She didn't wanted to be beautiful for anyone else. As she walked along the swimming pool it was very tempting to look up to his window. She knew for sure, he would be looking at her. But she was to upset, she couldn't handle it to see his sad face right now. It was time to focus again. There was a gig to taken care of and after that, she was aloud to brake down. Not now, later!
It felt like everything was still the same and nothing was going to change. The lads were busy with their rehearsals and Sheila was walking around it, giving instructions and taken care of whatever comes to mind. She did this for so long, almost nobody had to correct her for forgetting anything. She just didn't. Louis was walking around it as well. He was relaxed and didn't behave badly or mad, just being himself. He looked at Sheila and how she took care of everything. She was so perfect for the job, why did she had to fall in love with Mark? Of all people she fell for him. He looked at Mark, a pretty young man, with a good character and loads of female fans. But that was also the problem. He loved her now, but for how long? She would be forgotten by him within a few weeks. Maybe he would find someone new this week already, when Sheila was save and sound in Ireland. Louis knew for sure, he was protecting her for more heartache....
Sheila looked in the mirror for the last time. Through the mirror she could see her suitcases on the bed. Everything was packed. A tear fell down her face but she didn't wanted to cry anymore. Just one more evening being beautiful for Mark and that would be it. She already knew she wouldn't be attending at breakfast. She just couldn't. The pain was to intense. She put on her new red lipstick and eyeliner, something she never did before. The lady in the beauty salon of the hotel had told her it made her eyes bigger and even more beautiful than they were now already. She had blushed and hoped Mark would see it too. But it didn't even come to that. She pulled her dress straight which she bought yesterday when she also got the black and white dress from Mark. It was a beautiful white little dress, with a twirling wide skirt just above her knees and a tight body with lace decorated on the breast part. The sun had tanned her skin what made it a beautiful combination. She put on the high heels with bandages who had to be wrapped around her leg. She pulled up her shoulders and whispered to her image in the mirror "what's the use Sheila? " when no one answered she took her little handbag, grabbed her keys from the table, put out the lights and closed the door.
Nicky saw her walking into the hotel and whistled at her. Hé sweetheart, she answered a bit sad. Nicky put his arm around her shoulder, put his finger on his lips and pulled her into the conference room where nobody was present. He lifted her up and sat her down onto the table. Sheila frowned, what's the matter Nicko? Nicky took her hand in his and looked at her. I don't know exactly how to say this, as good as possible Sheila. I know Mark for a long time now and I know he liked a lot of girls along the way. Nicky smiled at her. I don't need to tell you that, you always took care of all his mess afterwards. But after that night, he slept in your bed, the night you thought he was to drunk to realize, he changed his thoughts about you. He asked us a thousand questions about you, which we couldn't answer of course, because we all didn't know anything about your private life. But in one way or the other he was determined to find out, what it was that attracted him in you. During these two weeks here, you only confirmed for him, what he already felt for you. He saw something in you we didn't saw, but he did. He looked further than the clothes you were wearing and the large glasses on your nose. You are the living prove of the ugly duckling who turned into a beautiful swan. Not that you were ugly, but you know what I mean, don't you? So what I want to say is, Mark loves you much longer already than we thought at first. Nicky silenced, but when he noticed Sheila was still listening he continued, I have never seen him so devastated as he is now. He squeezed her hand when he suddenly begged her, please Sheila, don't believe anything Louis tells you, okay? He will try to talk you out of it, in loving Mark, but he deserves your love to the fullest sweetheart. A tear fell down her cheek and Nicky quickly wiped it away from her face. Please don't, he whispered. Otherwise I am going to cry as well. And you want to be beautiful for Mark won't you? Nicky's eyes went over her body and said softly, you absolutely succeeded in that. You are looking gorgeous. He touched her face and gently kissed her lips. Don't be scared, I won't seduce you, but I do want to let you know, that I love you very much, as a dear friend and I am going to miss you enormously. And Mark is right, your lips are very soft. Sheila blushed, silly. She hopped of the table and hugged Nicky tight. I love you too and who knows when we meet again. No, don't say that. We will see you in two weeks. Mark expects you at the airport in Dublin and he blinked at her. We'll see, she said and walked with Nicky out of the room.
