The room was empty, the fans all gone. Mark was exhausted. After the gig they made some time of for the fans to take some pictures and share autographs, but Sheila was nowhere to be seen. The technicians had call it a day, only Freddy was still there to sort things out, but that wouldn't take long either. Nicky, Kian and Shane tried to make Mark feel a little bit better, but soon they realized it was not going happen tonight and they understood why. Mark didn't understand why she hadn't come back. He saw her opening the door and leave, but he was definitely convinced she would be coming back. When almost everyone was gone, he decided to go to her cottage to see if she was there. He couldn't let her go like this. He had to say goodbye to her, kiss her just one more time, or maybe...? He jumped of the stage and walked out the door, determined to find her.
Sheila walked back into the performance space. Everyone was gone, only Freddy was still there. Hi sweetie, he greeted her. Hi Freddy. They liked it a lot, didn't they? She asked him because she didn't know what to say. They always do, he smiled while he pushed away a wire with his foot. Sheila walked around the stage as if she was saying goodbye to everything she saw. She tabbed with her finger on Mark's mic. It was still on. Softly she stroke with her fingers over the top of his mic. She closed her eyes, as if she could still feel his lips touching the mic when he sung. Why is it still on? She asked Freddy. Oh I probably forgot. I will in a sec, he answered. Freddy? Hmm, yes dear, he said while being lost in his thoughts about the wires. Could you put on this song? She showed him her phone with one of her favorite songs on it. Are you sure? Freddy asked. Aren't you a bit harsh on yourself if you are going to play this? Sheila nodded her head. Please, she asked again. I just love this song, that's all. Okay, but I have to work on this and then I will leave too. I am tired sweetie. Sheila smiled at him and kissed him on his cheek. Sure you are and she sat down on the stool where Mark had been sitting on, with her back towards the outside door and Mark's mic in her hand. Freddy put on the music and started working again. Sheila closed her eyes when the music started and put the mic before her lips when she sung.....
Isn't it rich? Aren't we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground,
You in mid-air
Send in the clownsLouis walked out of the bar after having a whiskey. Now all the crowd was gone, he liked a drink without having a talk all the time. He walked towards the elevator when he heard this voice singing in the performance hall. He frowned. He didn't recognized the voice but it made him very curious. He carefully opened the door and saw Sheila sitting on a stool on stage with her back towards him. He saw Freddy looking up at him pointing at Sheila as if to say that she was really the one who was singing this. Sheila had her eyes closed so she couldn't see what was going on and kept on singing...
Isn't it bliss? Don't you approve?
One who keeps tearing around
One who can't move,
Where are the clowns
Send in the clownsMark walked into the hotel, because he found out Sheila wasn't at her cottage. He was sad and frustrated, hoping she was okay, when he suddenly heard her voice. It sounded clear but sad and when he walked towards the hall, he saw Louis standing in the doorway, listening. He walked up to Louis and stopped behind him. Louis looked at him and it was just as if he wanted to say sorry to Mark when Sheila continued singing...
Just when I stopped opening doors
Finally knowing the one that I wanted was yours
Making my entrance again with my usual flair
Sure of my lines...
No one is there..Don't you love farce
My fault I fear
I thought that you'd want what I want, sorry my dear
But where are the clowns?
There ought to be clowns
Quick send in the clowns
