Mark was already finished taking a shower and was looking through his closet what to wear, when he saw the silk shirt Sheila had been wearing last night. He picked it up from the chair to ask her from whom this shirt was, when he heard her softly singing in the shower. He leaned against the doorframe of the bathroom to listen to her. He noticed she was holding her voice down, so he wouldn't be able to hear her. She sang a song of Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibbs, a song Mark loved too, but never had the opportunity of singing on stage.
/what, what kind of fool / tears it apart / leaving me pain and sorrow/ losing you, now wondering why / ..
Why should she be so afraid to sing? Mark wondered. He had heard her sing once before and even Louis had been surprised about her singing skills. But she didn't know back then, they where listening to her. She told Mark once, she was extremely scared, but without reason according to him. She started the chorus again and without her knowing, Mark sang together with her.
/ what, what kind of fool / tears it apart / leaving me pain and sorrow/ oh, losing you now / wondering why / where will I be....tomorrow /
The further the song went the louder she sang. She probably thought Mark left downstairs, when he suddenly sang along with his powerful voice. Sheila screamed under the shower, Mark you scared the hell out of me! Go away! Mark laughed and walked into the shower. It was a large walk-in shower, which he had especially built for him, when he bought the house. He could stand there without getting wet, but Sheila had something else in mind. She took the hand-shower and splashed him soaking wet, while he tried to grab it out of her hand. She screamed and laughed out loud but also saw his slightly irritated face. I was just ready! He said out loud. Then stay away! Sheila screamed of laughter, when he grabbed her by her waist and started to tickle her. Leave me alone! I am hungry and you promised me the best brunch ever. Mark looked at her as a drowned cat, with his hair all messed up and his jeans soaking wet. He hadn't put on a shirt yet and he was now glad he didn't. Sheila had shampoo all over and felt smooth and slippery. Mark tried to hold on to her more tightly, but the shampoo made it almost impossible. He squeezed her bottom and said with a hoarse voice, it is that you worn me out already on my day off, but otherwise.... Sheila crawled against his naked chest when she whispered in his ear, but I love to cuddle just as much as making love, did you know that? Mark held his head slightly backwards and grinning, why didn't you tell me that before? Then I shouldn't have showed off like that and I would have been much more fitter than I am now. Ooohh! Sheila yelled. You asshole, I will get you for this! Mark laughed out loud, pulled her close and kissed her passionately while his hands caressed her body for the hundredth time that day. He suddenly let go of her, said that he was going to make brunch, turned around and stepped out of the shower laughing. Leaving Sheila behind, panting and all confused. He looked over his shoulder just once, smiled with a naughty smile on his face and said, Hurry up please! You woman always take so much time while taking a shower. Brunch is almost ready. Oooohhh !! she screamed and threw the sponge at his head. But instead of hitting his head it stuck against the wall and she heard Mark laughing out loud while he left the bathroom.
Sheila and Mark enjoyed their brunch to the fullest, sitting outside in the sun while talking and laughing together, like they had done so often the last eight years. Before they became lovers, they could talk till late in the night about everything, from music up to politics and they never got bored. Sitting here together in the sun, completely relaxed, enjoying their food and their companionship, felt just like before and they were glad it did.
Although it was his day off, Mark still had to do his singing rehearsals, so after their brunch together, Mark went upstairs to his music room, while Sheila cleaned up the table. Because she didn't had that much time left till it was four o'clock, she decided to start with the preparations for diner and while she was on it, she set the table as well. Sheila always loved a well set table, even when she was alone. Christie had learned her, that with a beautiful table setting, the food tasted better as well. She had found a few gorgeous looking chandeliers and when she put them on the table with the candles in it, she looked at it from a distance and was satisfied with the result. She was looking forward to the evening with her boys. It was always fun when they were together and especially now, Sheila thought smiling. She had a surprise for the lads and she knew for sure they would all love it.
