"No! Please!" Jasper begged. He held his hand up, flinching as you held your blade before him. You stared down at the boy, a troubled look in your eyes. With a reluctant sigh, you lowered your weapon, stepping away. "R-really?"

"Go."

"But you-"

"Go, Sky boy."

"Why couldn't you kill me?" He spoke lowly, standing from the ground. "What's your name?"

"Nessa."

"What's your story."

"Something for another time."

"When can another time be?" Jasper asked. You slowly turned, looking at the dirt covered boy. "I know, not all are you are the same. I've met grounders that do good."

And so it went on for weeks. Secret meetings, Jasper not even speaking a word to his best friend. He made the trek back to their spot, waiting patiently for you.

"Jasper!" Your voice boomed out, causing the boy to jump. He turned to look at you when smile immediately made its way onto his face, a grin breaking out on your lips.

"Hey, uhm. So, i have an idea." He spoke, earning a eye roll in response. "It's actually a good one this time!" He defended himself.

"Well, go on then. Tell me your brilliant idea." You said. Jasper stepped forwards, grinning down at you.

"Come back to Arkadia with me." Jasper asked lowly, taking your hands. Your brows knit in confusion, head tilted to the side. "They need to know. There's more like Lincoln, more like you."

"I was born Ice nation. Your people would never-"

"You didn't kill me when we first met, and you sure haven't now. I see you daily, it would be nice not having to come all the way out here." Jasper chuckled lowly, brows arched in hope.

"Jasper, I don't know."

"Please. Come back with me?" He poked his lower lip out, hands moving around your waist. "It's not so bad there, I promise."

You had dreamed the idea before. Being safely behind walls. Being with people. Actually making a difference. But you never believed the chance would present itself.

"O-okay." You spoke lowly. Jasper's eyes lit up, and before he could stop himself, his lips were on yours. He tensed up as he realized what he had just done, but quickly relaxed as your arms wrapped around his neck.

"Thank you, Nessa."

"No. Thank you Jasper." You grinned, nerves bubbling in your stomach as his hand gently took yours. He turned you towards the road he always took, merily walking along the path. You shot a glance over your shoulder at your old route, a smile cracking onto your lips.

On to bigger and better things.
