Hooves thud against uneven soil, your mind slipping as you smeared blood across your face in attempt to wipe it away. The trusted steed carried you towards Polis, towards Lex and all the healers you knew she would provide. Voices filled your clouded mind, body supported only by the animal.

Stopping just outside the tower, guards swarmed you. Yells boomed around, before finally, Lexa appeared in your line of vison. You reach out for her, the girl supporting you as you tried to get off the horse. She quickly grabbed you, yelling out for her healers. But you collapsed, Lexa supporting your limp body from hitting the ground.

You awoke days later, pain and exhaustion immediately coursing through your body. "Fuck." You muttered to yourself, pressing your fingers against your temple. Looking around the room, you noticed Lexa laying asleep beside you in the fur covered sheets. Dark circles were beneath her eyes, a look of worry on her tired face.

Her eyes fluttered open, meeting yours almost instantly. They seemed to light up, the girl quickly jumping up, keeping her eyes on you. "Titus!" She yelled, a hint of relief in her voice. The man quickly entered the room, a smile twitching onto his lips as he noticed you were awake. "Send for a healer to check on Michelle now that she is awake." She ordered, Titus turning to leave.

"Lex, what happened?"

"You arrived on horse back half concious. We got you down, but it was too late. I thought I lost you, I thought the fever took you." She breathed, cupping your face in her hands. You smiled gently, placing your hands over hers.

"You aren't getting rid of me."

"Two days, two days I worried about you. The healers were doing all they could do, I didn't think it was enough." She sighed, kissing your forehead. Lexa pulled back with a still worried look, pressing the back of her hand against your forehead. "You still haven't knocked this-"

"Perhaps, due to her state. But, now that she it awake, she will do better." A voice reassured. Nicolette stood at the open doorway, fingers wrapped around a bag. Lexa gestured her in, leaning away, but keeping your hand in hers. "Give it 24 more hours, you should begin to feel better."

"Thank you." You nodded, taking the medicine. Nicolette finished up, nodding at you and the commander, before scurrying away.

"That's good news." Lexa breathed, watching you closley. You nodded, letting out a weak cough. With wide eyes, Lexa scrambled up, but you quickly grabbed her arm.

"I'm fine Lex." You shook your head, pulling her down beside of you. "I need to sleep this off, my extended nap was very unsatisfactory." Lexa cracked a smile, rolling her eyes at your poorly timed joke.

"Then sleep, but I am here for anything you need." You peered up at the girl, opening your arms up for her. Lexa knew of the duties she had, but she couldn't just say no.

"Please?"

"Well, I do need to make sure you're going to be okay." She reasoned with herself, before finally nodding. Throwing the blankets back, she crawled in beside of you, planting a gentle kiss on your forehead. "Sleep, Michelle. You'll feel better soon."
