A sudden jolt from beside of you pulled your from your sleep. You rolled around, trying to rub the tiredness from your eyes. There you saw a panicked Murphy. His chest heaved, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. His cheeks were a darkened pink, tears welled up in his eyes.

"Hey, John. Baby, it's okay. I'm here." You cooed, slowly sitting up beside of him. His breathing was uneasy, his eyes not meeting yours. "John, baby. Look at me, please."

Your hand gently slipped into his, fingers intertwining. "Do you need anyth-"

"No, Allison, please don't leave me." He said, his voice barely above a whisper. He glanced over, stealing a look, before his eyes averted back over to the bed.

"Okay. I'm here." You cooed, leaning forwards and gently kissing his shoulder. You stayed leaned into his side, your mouth leaned against his shoulder. "I love you."

Murphy slowly looked down at you, causing you to lean away, smiling up at him. "I-i love you too, Allison." He said in a low voice.

"What was it about this time?"

"I- you were-"

"Deep breath. Maybe calm down before you-"

"I'm fine." He snapped, causing you to jump. His eyes widened in response, Murphy quickly pulling you into his embrace. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap like that."

"Hey, you're fine. Just tell me when you're ready." For John to be one guy, one teenage boy, he had been through the lot. It used to be about the hanging, but it got to where the pain of the grounders torturing him and every other cruel act the ground had inflicted was burned into his head.

"It- it was the night of the hanging. But it wasn't me this time, I wasn't the one hung up." He spoke, his arms tightening around you. He leaned his face into the crook of your neck, breath sending shivers down your spine. "I never want to lose you."

"I'm fine, Murphy. I'm here, and I'm not leaving you." You cooed, hugging him tightly. You slowly rubbed his back, kissing him on the cheek. "Are you okay now baby?"

"I- yeah." He nodded, his arms still holding you against him. You leaned forwards, kissing his neck gently. He tensed up at the action, still not liking anything touching his neck.

"Wanna try and go back to bed?" He nodded lightly, the two of you lying back. You cuddled into his side, your fingers lazily drawing shapes on his skin. "I love you."

"I love you. More than anything."
