John Murphy appreciation.

Why is Murphy considered the bad guy. Need I remind you:

When Bellamy Blake was scaling a fucking mountain, John Murphy held onto the rope when it broke. When grounds shot at them and the others abandoned the rope, John Murphy held on to the damned thing so Bell wouldn't fall to his death.

Literally everything with Emori.

He tried to save people when he and Jaha were in the boat, but damned psychopathic Jaha.

He was locked up for setting his father's arresting officers office on fire. He didn't murder someone like everyone played it off to be.

When biological warfare strikes camp, he actually helps people. Yeah he kills people, but they were the reason he nearly fucking died.

When the smoke house went up in flames he didn't just run out, he made sure Octavia made it out too. And he technically stood up for her.

When he and Raven are in the dropship after the grounder war, he rolls her to her side and keeps her alive.

He tries to stop Finn from massacring a village. But fucking Finn god damnit.

He was tortured for THREE DAMNED DAYS. AND EVEN AFTER HE WAS TORTURED A SECOND TIME, HE NEVER MENTIONED THE MINES.

HE PUMPED A BRAIN DEAD ONTARI'S HEART WITH HIS BARE HANDS TO KEEP CLARKE PUMPED FULL OF NIGHT BLOOD LONG ENOUGH TO SHUT THE CITY OF LIGHT DOWN.

Also, can we talk about how damned loyal that boy is? When Bellamy approaches him, he follows him whole heartedly. He went after Jasper with no questions, because Bell asked him to.

And he is blamed for everything:

Charolette murders Wells, Murphys fault.

Charolette jumps off a fucking cliff, like the little shit deserved, Murphys fault.

Unaware of biological warfare brought to camp after being tortured for three days, Murphys fault.

Finn massacres a village, Murphys fault.

But God forbid a murderer lives.

Do we forget:

Mount weather

Finn massacring a village

Bell killing 300 people for getting rid of the radio

And yet Murphy is the killer for trying to kill those who nearly killed him. The people who did him wrong. Those two people.

And no one on the show ever appreciates him for ANYTHING:

The boy saves Bellamy life. It was literally dangling in his hands, but Murphy tried his best to keep that boy alive AND HE DOES. But he gets a simple nod. That's it. A fucking nod for saving his life.

Three days of absolute torture. Murphy was treated like shit by the delinquents, but it took three damned days to break him down. But he's weak because of it.

He's hung for a crime he didn't commit. And what does he get in return? No apologies here, just banishment.

Oh, and let me fucking tell you. I love Raven, one of my favorites, but this little part made me hate her for a bit. Okay, okay. So Murphy goes to the dropship with the others when the grounders are after Finn. He thinks he's being helpful, but they try to turn him in instead because his TWO MURDERS make his life worth less than a person who killed A WHOLE FUCKING VILLAGE.
