____________________________"Liz! My tent, now." Clarke ordered, her eyes narrowed. You let out a low sigh, slowly moving from Murphy's side. He held you in his gaze as you walked away, shaking his head at Clarke for ruining the moment.
"What's up Princess-" but she didn't say anything, instead grabbing your wrist and dragging you inside. There, you noticed Octavia slumped over in her bed, so obviously passed out drunk.
"So, drunk Octavia told me some very important information about a certain someone?"
"What? Bell wet the bed 'till he was thirteen or-"
"Stop with the snarky comments, I seriously need to talk to you about this." Clarke rolled her eyes, hands on her hips. "She told me something about you and a certain someone."
"What exactly did she tell?"
"You like Murphy, don't you?" She asked with narrowed, suspicious eyes. You simply shrugged, Clarke letting out a sigh at the nonchalant action. "Don't act like it's no big deal! John Murphy is a trouble maker, he's a criminal."
"Dont you remember, princess? Over ninety percent of us are criminals." You pointed out, causing her to roll her eyes. "What's it matter to you if I like Murphy?"
"I don't want you to become like him. You're a good person, Liz. But he's not-"
"Because you know him so well?" You snapped, trying your best to defend your case to the brick wall that is Clarke Griffin. No matter what you said, you weren't swaying her opinion.
"He is the last thing I approve of."
"And that matters to me, how?"
"You're making a mistake." You sarcastically shrugging response, turning quickly to leave the tent. Murphy watched you exit, a small smile on his face as you neared him, but it quickly dropped as you stormed away from him.
"Unity day. Such bullshit."

"I'm sorry about last night, Princess was on my case." You apologized, sending a gentle smile up at the boy. Murphy pulled his signature smirk, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
"Whats new? Princess won't give anyone a break." He stated, letting out a low laugh. "You know, you still never had that drink with me, I think there's still some moonshine left over." He offered with raised eyebrows. You looked around at the working people, before your eyes met Murphy's. What a tempting offer.
"Hey Liz, could you stop flirting with the criminal and get to work? Thanks." Clarke yelled out, all eyes falling on the two of you. Your cheeks flushed a deep red, head bowing from Murphy's gaze.
"I- uhm- it's not like that." You stuttered once your eyes met hers. From your side, Murphy let out a low laugh, shaking his head as he turned. The boy stormed off in front of everyone, heads turning to you. Your stomach turned, making you quickly turn and run from the apparent scene.
After what seemed like hours of searching, you finally found John by the lake. He could clearly hear you walking closer to him, but his eyes never left the water.
"John, i-"
"Just don't. I get it if you don't want to be with me, but you could have at least stopped leading me on." His voice was low, barely above a whisper. You sunk down beside of him, gently touching his arm. But he flinched away, positioning himself so that he was leaned away from you.
"Murphy, I do like you-"
"But you like the opinions of others more. I get it, just leave me alone." He muttered, dropping his head. His hands played with the small pebbles lying around the bank, his only distraction for the moment.
"You know what Murphy." Your voice trailed off, letting out a low sigh. "Maybe I don't care what Clarke or everyone else thinks, okay?"
"I saw your reaction, Liz." Murphy breathed, head dropped. When your eyes locked, you noted the pain deep inside them. "I shouldn't be surprised-"
"What can I do to make this up to you? Kiss you in front of all of those jack asses? Hold your hand and praise you? Tattoo Murphys girl on my damn forehead?" You yelled, throwing your hands up in the air. He rolled his eyes, standing and turning to walk away, but you quickly grabbed his hand. "I love you, please."
But he pursed his lips, bowing his head. He clapped a hand over yours, thumb rubbing gently over your skin. He looked at you for a sliver of a second, tears brimming his eyes, before dropping his head and turning away.
