...Six days after the funeral...

Shigure had returned home and Hatori was still away on business, so Mimi was alone once again. Mimi heard the post come through the letter box and walked to the front door to get it. Most of it was junk but there was a big brown envelope addressed to Mimi. The handwriting looked very familiar; Mimi sat down on the sofa and opened the envelope. Inside it were four envelopes addressed to Mimi, Rinji, Rin and Suzi. Mimi quickly opened hers a small key on a necklace chain fell into her lap. When Mimi read the first sentence she almost dropped the letter.

Well, if you're reading this, then it means I'm dead. It's kind of funny if you think about it. I never thought I would be writing something as cheesy as this my word from beyond the grave and all, (woooo hear me Mimi listen to my ghostly words... 'Denn die Todten reiten Schnell'...) ha ha ha. Okay kid let's get straight to business: there are three other letters I need you to deliver Rinji's and Rin's letters to Rinji like yesterday it's a matter of life and death. Ha ha ha there I go again, you make sure he reads it; I mean you stand there and watch him read it. When he does Rinji is going to need your help please do everything you can to help him. Then give Rinji the letter addressed to Rin. She needs to read it. What I have written will help her get over the guilt of my death.

Next, the letter addressed to my kid sister. I know her better then she knows herself. She will be coming to Japan to find answers please make sure she doesn't get herself killed trying to find them. Tell her that when she is ready to grow up and dump the married man and find real happiness she can have the letter. Until then you are going to have to hold onto it for safe keeping. Also let her know Rinji has the keys to my apartment and it's hers. She should find the answers she's looking for in there and please return the key to Rinji and show him this portion of your letter.

Mimi carefully set the first page of Erika's letter down next to her and continued to read.

Now on to you missy: I know you don't want to admit it but you're holding on to the past so hard you can't see your future that is right in front of your eyes. Please, please open your eyes before it's too damn late. The poor man is not going to wait forever. I know you love Hatori and I know you desperately long for the days when you two were truly happy; but honey, those days are long gone. You need to move on and grab happiness with both hands and never look back. If you don't, it will slip though your fingers and you will spend the rest of your life regretting it. I know it will be hard but look deep inside you and gather the courage to do what is right. Just be happy in whatever you do. I love you Mimi and I know you can be strong when it comes down to it. Trust in your heart and ignore your head. For once in your life do what you want and not what you think others expect you too.

Mimi woke up and sat up in bed, she was covered in sweat and breathing heavily, as the images of Shigure and Mimi's first kiss and Erika's message slapping Mimi across the face telling Mimi to follow her heart, was still swirling around in her head from the dream she just had. Mimi looked at the clock and it read eleven forty five.

Then Shigure said "Is everything alright Mimi? It sounded like you were having a bad dream."

Mimi got out of her bed and climbed into Shigure's bed and said "I am ok now."

Mimi looked into Shigure's eyes and knew this was the man she was meant to be with; and yet clawing at the back of her mind she still wasn't sure she had the strength to leave Hatori. Mimi put both hands on Shigure's face and said "I am so sorry for the hurt I have caused you; I'm just not strong enough yet. You deserve someone much better than me."

Shigure kissed Mimi to stop her talking and once again it felt like they were on fire like a sun on the verge of going super nova. Shigure pulled away and said "Stop that I deserve you. I don't want anyone else and I'm willing to wait until you're ready."

Tears began running down Mimi's face and with all the passion and love that Mimi had locked away she kissed Shigure, he wrapped his arms around Mimi and held her tightly as he returned her kisses with just as much passion. It felt like Shigure's arms were made for the soul purpose of holding Mimi and they fit perfectly around her. Mimi felt like she was meant to be wrapped safely in his arms and there was no other place in the world she was meant to be. Shigure unwrapped one of his arm from around Mimi and started to touch her bare skin, each time he touched her skin it felt like it was being shocked with electricity and coming back to life.

Shigure took his top off, and then helped Mimi take hers off and he started to kiss the naked top half of her body. Each time his lips touched Mimi it felt like ecstasy. Slowly Shigure started to tug at Mimi's pyjama bottoms. It woke Mimi from her ecstasy filled daze.

She put her hands on Shigure's hands to stop him, then said "We can't I'm still married and I am not going to cheat on Hatori like that."

Shigure smiled, kissed Mimi on the forehead and wrapped his arms around her and said "That's fine. I understand."

Mimi knew something inside her had changed because she did not feel guilty for kissing Shigure like she had in the past.
