After tons of screaming, shouting, arguing and accusation it was decided that Mimi would keep the baby and they would work on their relationship. Once again the destructive cycle Mimi and Hatori were in repeated. After that Hatori became distant and would disappear for days. When Hatori was with Mimi he was amicable and on occasion he even seemed to show Mimi kindness but it always seemed forced.

That July Mimi made the heartbreaking trip to Hokkaido to tell Shigure she was staying with Hatori. Shigure was very upset but he understood and told Mimi he still loved her and that if she changed her mind he would love her and her baby.

After that Mimi threw herself into her writing, this kept Mimi very busy. So she barely noticed when Hatori was home or away. This was because Mimi would spend days locked in her study writing hiding from reality. When she was forced to leave the safety of her study the reality of her life was really starting to affect her. And she started to suffer from severe panic attacks where she could not breathe and it felt like her world was crashing down on her.

When she told the doctor that she was having these attacks he warned her she had to relax and take it easy; and above all she had to avoid any stress. He told Mimi that the stress could harm the baby and at twenty weeks she did not want to go into labour because the baby would not survive. Mortified by hearing this news she told Yoshi and he asked Mimi if she wanted to stay with him until the baby was born. Mimi declined but she agreed to Yoshi stopping by and checking on her three times a week.

...December 16...

Mimi was twenty nine weeks pregnant and even though Mimi was still haunted by her reality she managed to get her stress and panic attacks under control. Hatori even seemed to be warming to Mimi and he was once again making an effort to mend things with her.

Hatori put on his coat and said "I'm going out."

Mimi was watching TV; she turned towards Hatori and said "Where do you need to go Hatori? I can't believe work keeps you away from home this much." Mimi looked at her watch "Its eight thirty for God sakes. Whatever it is can't it wait until tomorrow?"

Hatori got annoyed. It was the same question Mimi had been asking for weeks and said, "Look, I'm going out and that's all you need to know, I'll be back when I'm good and ready."

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Mimi asked getting off the sofa and walking towards Hatori. "I don't see why where you're going has to be such a secret. Unless you have something to hide," Mimi could feel her blood pressure rising but ignored it because she wanted answers.

"Don't be so stupid! My business is my business, now just drop it." Hatori snapped.

"No, I'm not going to drop it damn it. I have left it and left it. I'm your wife God damn it why do you treat me like this. You don't know what I go through to try and make this crappy marriage work," Mimi shouted.

"If you think it's so crappy why don't you leave. I don't know why I put up with you sometimes." Hatori shouted back.

"I'm staying because we are having a baby. I would have thought you would treat me a little better now I'm carrying your child. What is so wrong with me that you can't stand to be around me for more than a few hours?" Mimi said with tears in her eyes. "I have been trying and trying to make things work but honestly what is the point Hatori. Do you even know the last time you touched me?"

Hatori could see how much Mimi was hurting and it broke his heart to see what he was doing to her and he said "We will talk when I get back, but I mean it you need to drop it. I'm going out and that is the end of it." Hatori turned and started to walk out of the door.

Mimi shouted at him "I really hate how heartless you have become Hatori."

Mimi walked back to the sofa and felt crippling pain shoot across her stomach. She doubled over clinching her belly. Mimi managed to crawl to the sofa and laid down on it and she desperately tried to calm herself down. When the pain did not go away after ten minutes Mimi used all of her energy to crawl to the phone. When she called Hatori he did not answer. Mimi hung up and tried again and again. On the fifth time calling Hatori, his phone went straight to voice mail and Mimi knew he turned it off.

Without thinking Mimi instantly called Shigure. When he answered the phone his blood ran cold when he heard the terror in Mimi's voice.

"Shigure, there's something wrong with the baby. I'm in so much pain and Hatori went out and is not answering his phone." Mimi voice trembled as she said this.

Shigure calmed himself down then said "Mimi you have to calm down. Have you called an ambulance?"

"No, I didn't know what to do. I'm so scared." Mimi said. Her voice was trembling even more.

Shigure was about to say "Call", when Mimi started screaming "I'm bleeding. Oh God there is so much blood please help me!"

Shigure said in a firm voice "Mimi you have to call an ambulance now. Do you understand you have to hang up right now and call an ambulance. I'm going to come down there right now. Now hang up and call on ambulance!''

Mimi did exactly as Shigure said, then called him back and told him what hospital she was going to have them take her. Shigure then called Yoshi and Ritsu and let them know what was happening. Even though Shigure had a private jet that he used when he came down to Tokyo it was still going to take him several hours to get to Mimi. He knew Yoshi could be with Mimi in thirty minutes at the most and Ritsu could get there in an hour and a half if she drove like crazy.
