It was late afternoon when Mimi arrived at the house and she got there earlier than she had anticipated as she walked into the old Queen Anne house it was eerily quiet. After Mimi removed her shoes in the foyer she stood there with her eyes closed and leaned against the front door, Mimi could hear the voices of the countless generations of the past residences welcoming her into the house. This filled her with warmth and a smile took hold over Mimi's soul. Mimi then walked into the living room which was immediately to her left: the movers had come and gone and they had put all of Mimi's stuff into the living room, because Mimi had not taken much with her the boxes only filled a quarter of the living room and the three-seater sofa from Mimi's office looked completely out of place.

Mimi smiled then stretched out her arms and twirled around in the living room giggling to herself. It had been a long time since she had been completely on her own with no one to rely on but herself and it felt good. Mimi stopped twirling and flopped on the sofa and sat there until the room stopped spinning. Then she stood up and walked up to the huge window in the living room that looked out onto the front of the property. Even though the house was set back away from the road Mimi still had a good view of the surrounding houses. Then Mimi turned to her right and walked out of the living room and back into the foyer and into the small room that was in the bottom half of the turret. Windows encircled the whole room letting in the sunlight making the room warm and extremely inviting. Mimi instantly decided that this room was going to be her office.

After soaking up a few more minutes of sunlight Mimi walked out of the room then turned right again and walked past the downstairs bathroom and into the empty room that was at the back of the house to the right of the kitchen. The room was huge and it had French doors that Mimi opened and then walked out onto the covered porch that wrapped around the whole house. She walked up to the railing and leaned over it as she looked at the pristine back garden. Mimi could tell that the old couple that lived here before her had taken extremely good care and put a lot of time and attention into the gardens that surrounded the house. Mimi decided that she would explore the gardens later and walked back into the house. She then walked into the kitchen which was big but really shabby and outdated.

Mimi walked into the last big room that was downstairs which was connected to the living room and Mimi thought this room would make a good dining room. Mimi was giddy as she walked through her house and upstairs as she had never actually seen the inside. The upstairs of the house was a lot more up to date and Mimi could tell it had been remodelled. She guessed that it had been done in the eighties because the décor screamed retro.

The master bedroom was to the left of the stairs and it ran the length of the living room and dining room. The bedroom area was over the living room and next to that was a walk-in closet and over the dining room was the huge master bathroom. There were two rooms that ran along the back of the house and next to them was an upstairs bathroom which was next to the last bedroom which was at the front of the house and was in the upper half of the turret. Mimi was seriously considering making this room hers but the fact that the master bedroom had a sea view and a walk-in closet made Mimi reconsider.

        As Mimi walked back downstairs she knew she was going to have her work cut out for her, because the décor of the whole house was so out of date and worn. She suddenly wished that Motoko was here to help her because the job was so big, but just when Mimi felt as if the task at hand was too much Mimi remembered she redecorated Shigure's house which was bigger than this one and Mimi started to calm down.

Mimi took a deep breath, then smiled over the fact that she would finally get to decorate her house her own way, and then looked at her watch. It was already six o'clock and Mimi figured she would go into town to get some dinner and make some enquiries as to painters and decorators while she was there. Just as she grabbed her car keys there was a knock on the door. Mimi not expecting any visitors slowly walked to the door and opened it she was greeted by a tall and extremely beautiful woman that had curves in all the right places as well as being thin and look about Mimi's age. She had wavy dark brown hair that went down to the middle of her back. Just looking at all of this woman's lovely long hair made Mimi long for hers back.
