They had waited seven long years to experience each other, and they spent the rest of the day in bed. The next week was like a blissful dream much of which was spent in the bedroom making love. Mimi had managed to go over to Rei's house and introduced Shigure to her, but Mimi was being greedy with Shigure and if they didn't have to leave the house they didn't, they were quite happy to get lost in each other.

Mimi finally felt like her world made sense once again. Ever since they first kissed each other seven years ago Mimi had felt like there was something missing deep within her. Mimi had ignored this feeling for so many years in a desperate attempt to live a happy life with Hatori. It was only now that she was free from the guilt of loving another man other than her husband. The weight of those feelings began to lift and it was like the first rays of sunlight lighting everything up with its warmth after a long dark arctic winter.

Mimi loved Shigure with every bone in her body and Mimi knew Shigure was like air to her. She absolutely could not live without him and this scared Mimi. She had known a true and deep love with Hatori and before she kissed Shigure Mimi thought she loved Hatori with every bone in her body. Mimi knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Shigure, but at the same time Mimi wanted to take this new relationship very slowly. Mimi did not want to rush into anything and end up making the mistakes she had done with Hatori.

As October drew to a close the weather started to get colder, Mimi and Shigure were finally able to keep their hands off of each other and their clothes on long enough to venture out of the house. They enjoyed walking along the sea wall in town holding hands in public without feeling any sense of shame.

''I still can't believe that we are finally together. It still feels like a dream," Shigure said.

Mimi smiled then replied "I know what you mean but I'm so happy that we've finally got here in the end."

Mimi shivered a little as a gust of wind blew up from the sea.

"Let's head back home. It's getting cold and I don't want you to catch a cold." Shigure said as he put his jacket on Mimi.

As Shigure said the word home a nice warm feeling flooded Mimi's entire body and it made her light up and the biggest smile took hold on her face.

Shigure noticed this and said "Now what has brought such a magnificent smile to your face. I don't think I've seen you smile like that since I took you to Kyoto?"

Mimi started to get a little bashful and replied "It's just nice to hear you say we should go home."

Their time together was like a blissful dream and Mimi cherished it with all of her heart. She finally felt like she could start to put her life back together and grab happiness with both hands. Mimi still did not want to rush anything but she was also starting to feel that in a few months time, probably in the new year that they could think about making their relationship public. She figured Hatori would finally stop dragging his feet and sign the divorce papers and then they could officially move forward and no one could hold that against them. Mimi knew there would be objections from the family about their relationship but she did not want them using the fact that she was not divorced from Hatori as ammunition against her and Shigure.

Mimi woke up to the warmth of the sunlight hitting her skin. Still half asleep, she instinctively reached out her arm to feel for Shigure. When she felt the empty space in the bed where his body should have been Mimi opened her eyes and sat up in bed. Mimi did not like it when he was not around. It made her feel very empty and sad. She was quickly greeted by Shigure's warm hand as he reached out and gently caressed her cheek and leaned over to her and looked deeply into her eyes.

He had been sitting at the foot of the bed looking out the window and Mimi could tell he had something on his mind as he said "Sorry did I wake you up," and drew her into his chest with his other arm.

Mimi shrugged off the uneasy feeling that crept in at the back of her mind, like she was lazily swishing away an annoying fly that was flying too close to her face. Mimi once again drank from the overflowing love and warmth she got whenever she was in Shigure's arms. She closed her eyes and breathed in his intoxicating scent and listened to his heartbeat; she could have happily stayed there for the rest of her life. Shigure could tell Mimi was blissfully happy and even though he did not want to upset things he had stuff that was on his mind and he had decided today was the day that they were going to talk about it.

Every time Shigure had brought up the slightest hint of the subject of telling the family they were now together, Mimi would immediately and quite cunningly change the subject. Shigure did not mind at first but it was starting to bug him and he was not going to let the situation continue. He had been waiting too long for Mimi to choose him and now all he wanted to do was to damn the consequences and tell everyone and live the rest of his life happily with Mimi.

Shigure wrapped one arm tightly around Mimi's waist and placed his other hand on her face and gently lifted it so that she was looking into his eyes. Then he bent his head down and deeply kissed her as he intertwined his tongue with hers. Mimi couldn't help but go limp from ecstasy over load and Shigure could tell she was like putty in his hands and he said "Mimi I want to go to see the family and tell them about us."

It took a minute for Mimi to come crashing down off of cloud nine back to reality. It still felt like he was trying to rush things and this made her feel very uneasy. Mimi was having a hard time getting her thoughts into order. She did not want to say anything that would upset or hurt Shigure.

"I still think it's too soon for that Shigure. Please I don't see why we can't wait a bit longer." Mimi finally said.

"And I don't see how waiting any longer is going to make any difference." Shigure replied. He had heard this excuse before and he wanted more of an answer than he had been given.

Mimi could tell he was like a dog with a bone and he was not about to let this issue go Mimi sighed then said, "You know I want to tell the whole world that I love you and that we are in a relationship, but I don't think the timing is right."

"That's what I don't understand. Please help me to understand what is going on in that head of yours. The whole family knows that Hatori cheated on you and that you two are no longer together and there is no way that you will reconcile. So I don't see how you can possibly say the timing is not right." Shigure replied.

Mimi knew he had a point and she really wanted to let him have his way but there was still something that was holding her back. Mimi had been wrapped up in living in the moment with Shigure not thinking about the future or the past; and when ever any niggling feeling entered her head and threatened to pull her back and make her deal with the lingering feelings and emotions she had about Hatori, her marriage or how everyone would feel about her and Shigure being in a relationship, she would immediately push them aside so that she could continue to live blissfully unencumbered by the reality that she knew she was going to have to eventually face and all the hardship that would come with it.

"Fare enough, you have a point, but going up to Mito would involve leaving this nice sanctuary that we have at the moment and besides it would also mean that I wouldn't have you all to myself and I am not ready to share you." Mimi said she knew that this would give him what he wanted without actually giving him what he wanted and it would end things for the moment.
