Mimi felt it was time to bring everything out in the open about Erika in the days before she got killed in the hopes that it could help Suzi. Mimi sighed and took Suzi's hand then said, "Fine but you need to know one more thing. I know one of the reasons Erika was so damn reckless in trying to find Rin, was because of that jerk. Ganju had promised to leave his wife for the thousandth time and Erika and Ganju were going to move in together. A few days before this was due to happen she caught him out with his wife playing happy families and I think she finally realised that he was never going to leave his family. If she had been in a better state of mind I know she wouldn't have done what she did alone."

Suzi started to feel hot and she stood up and started to pace back and forth by the bed biting her thumb then she said, "Why didn't you tell me this years ago?"

"Would it have changed anything? I could see you were head over heels in love with Komuro-san. Erika told me in the letter she left me; I had to wait until you were ready. She knew you were as stubborn and thick headed as she was. Look, all she ever wanted for you was for you to be happy and that's all I want for you too. At the end of the day all I want you to do is to really think about which man will make you truly happy and then forget about the other one and move on." Mimi replied wishing she had taken this very advice years ago.

Suzi stopped pacing, then looked at Mimi, gave her a smile to let her know she was okay then said. "I promise I will do that. Now what are you going to do about Shigure, Mimi?"

Mimi walked over to her suitcase and pulled out a long envelope, opened it and put the papers that were inside it on the desk and sat down. Then she took out the hotels stationary from the desk and said "As Shigure won't talk to me I am going to write him a letter spilling my heart out. Then, I m going to stick it in the middle of these papers." Mimi held up her manuscript. "I'm going to tell him Yoshi wanted his opinion on the ending. I know he will read it if I tell him that. Then he will have to make a choice and I in turn will live with it good or bad."

The next day Mimi knocked on Shigure's door and Misato answered it. When she saw it was Mimi, Misato gave her a funny smile that was a mix of annoyance and trying to hide it badly and said "I'm sorry. Shigure's out. Can you come back later?"

Mimi was not sure how to take the weird reception but figured she had just caught Misato at a bad time and said, "That's okay. I only came to deliver this," Mimi handed Misato the long thick envelope. "It's the ending to my book Yoshi wanted Shigure's opinion as soon as possible. Could you give it to him when he gets back and let him know what I said?"

Misato took the envelope then replied, "Yes I will give it to him the minute he gets back."

"Oh and it's a work in progress so I'm going to have to ask that you don't read it. I'm sorry but our publishers want us to keep things as secret as possible and if they knew I was letting Shigure read it they would be really angry." Mimi added in hope that it would further deter her from opening it.

"Of course I understand. Well I would invite you in but I'm heading out myself so have a good day." Misato said as Mimi left.

When Misato closed the door she walked towards Shigure's study but then suddenly stopped and went upstairs instead. She closed the bedroom door, sat on the bed, and opened the envelope and took out the manuscript. Misato flicked through the pages then she picked up the manuscript and straightened the pages to put it back into the envelope. As she did this, the letter dropped out. Misato put the Manuscript back into the envelope then opened the letter and read it.

My dearest Shigure,

I honestly don't know where to start but I guess the best place is to say I love you I have loved you for the past eight years and I will love you for the rest of my life. I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am for all the times I have hurt you. I was such a coward and there was no excuse for it because you need to know that night we kissed eight years ago I knew you were the one I truly loved and you were the one I should have run away with. I have been regretting my actions ever since and I came here to make things right and tell you I will tell the whole family about us the whole world for that matter.

I will cherish the time we spent living together for the rest of my life. Now that the tables have turned and you have a girlfriend I know a little of how you felt all those years, and for that I am truly sorry that I have hurt you so deeply. I know you said you are trying to move on but I am begging you to pick me. I love you and I know you still love me Shigure. What we have doesn't go away no matter how hard you try. There are so many other things I want to say but it all comes down to this: I love you and all I have ever wanted was for you to be happy. If you are truly happy with Fuyutsuki-san then I will accept it and I will never bring this letter up ever again and I will let you move on, because I love you enough to let you go so that you can be happy. If you want to choose me, then I promise I will never hurt you again and I will spend the rest of my life proving that to you. I will be waiting in my hotel for three days. If you don't turn up then I will take that as you have chosen her and not me and I will go back to Izu and let you move on.

I truly love you,

'...Ever thine, ever mine, ever ours... forever my immortal beloved'
~Mimi~

After Misato read this she started to shake and she ripped the letter into four pieces and went to throw it away. When she got to the bin she changed her mind and shoved the letter in the back of her underwear drawer then she walked down stairs and handed Shigure the envelope.

She said in a cold voice, "Mimi-san dropped this off. She said Aburaki-san wanted your opinion on it as soon as possible."

Shigure took the envelope, looked at Misato trying to figure out why she was so pissed off and said "I'm surprised you didn't invite her in."

"I did but Mimi-san said she had to go back home to Izu as she had to meet with her husband and work out some stuff." Misato then left Shigure to read the manuscript.

Three days passed and Mimi was still waiting in her room not wanting to believe that Shigure was not coming.

Suzi put her hand on Mimi shoulder and said "I'm so sorry Mimi. What are you going to do now."

Mimi wiped her eyes they were already very red and puffy from her crying most of the day and said in a very hoarse voice, "He made his choice and now I have to live with it and try to move on."

"Come on. Let me buy you a drink at the bar, then I'll drive you to the airport. We can arrange for the hotel to drop the rental car off." Suzi said because it was the only thing she could think of that might help dull the pain Mimi was feeling.

"That would be nice." Mimi grabbed her bag then said as she walked out of the room "Hey just promise me you won't be afraid to grab happiness with both hands."

"I promise Mimi and thank you for coming to see me and giving me the letter." Suzi grabbed hold of Mimi's suitcase and wheeled it down the hallway.
