Mimi took Hatori's hand as he said "Stop. I don t need to hear this. It doesn't matter."

Mimi softly replied "No, it does matter and everything will make sense in a minute." Mimi could feel herself faltering but she knew she had to see this to the end for both of their sakes. "I knew at that moment that I loved Shigure and that we should be together, but I was scared and I was so in love with you Hatori it was blinding. Shigure could see this and how it was tearing me up inside, and instead of telling me to leave you like he should have. He told me it was a mistake and we should forget everything. Believe me I tried. God, I tried so damn hard to bury those feelings. It was my guilt that started to push you away and I am the one that ruined our marriage and I am so sorry Hatori." As soon as Mimi said this, the walls of the gilded cage she had locked herself in disintegrated finally freeing Mimi.

Hatori was hurt by what Mimi said but it wasn't a shock for him. He had known there was more going on between her and Shigure for a long time. He just never wanted to face it. Hatori reached out and hugged Mimi then said "Thank you for telling me but this doesn't change anything."

"Yes it does Hatori. I know you can see I haven't been able to get over Shigure. I'm no good for you and if we keep burying our heads in the sand and keep going the way we have been, we are just going to end up repeating the past." Mimi started to cry as she said this.

"I know you're right but I still love you," Hatori replied. He knew everything Mimi was saying was right but he still did not want to let her go.

"I still love you so very much, but I love Shigure more and that's the problem. You deserve someone who will love only you and make you happy. No matter how much you or I may want it, that person is not me." Mimi pulled herself away from Hatori and put her hand on his cheek and kissed him.

"I'm going to move back to Izu and move on, it's for the best." Mimi said as she looked into his eye, "I also called Ibuki-sama and asked him to dust off the divorce papers. All we have to do is sign them and that will be that."

"Are you sure about this Mimi," Hatori replied even though he already knew the answer.

"You know this is the right thing to do." Mimi kissed Hatori one last time then said, "Goodbye Hatori," and walked away.

When Mimi got out of the taxi at the main house she saw Shigure and Misato talking to Chojiro and Shizune at the front entrance of the main house and as they walked in to the house Mimi thought: "Speak of the devil I wonder why they are here."

Just as Mimi thought she had safely avoided them Shizune called out, "Mimi why don't you join us dear. We are going to have lunch and catch up with Shigure and Misato."

Mimi turned and said "I'd rather not if it's all the same." She walked off towards her house and said to herself, "I'd rather chop an arm off than have to face those two and fake being happy for them."

Once Mimi walked into her house she thought Hatori would be waiting there but to her relief he wasn't. Mimi didn't think she would be able to resist him if he tried to talk her out of leaving. Mimi walked over to the closet in the hallway and pulled out her two huge suitcases then dragged them upstairs. She was half way through putting her clothes into the suitcases when she heard the front door close. Mimi sighed and tried to build up her resolve as she continued to pack her clothes.

Mimi froze when she heard Shigure say, "Mimi I want to talk to you, so get down here."

Mimi couldn't believe Shigure had the nerve to come there and demand to talk to her after everything and Mimi shouted back, "I don't want to talk to you. Please just go away and leave me alone Shigure."

This did not get rid of Shigure and he stormed up the stairs and into the bedroom. He was fed up with Mimi and was so intent on giving her a piece of his mind that he did not notice the suitcases on the bed. "I know you're jealous of Misato but that doesn't give you the right to be so damn rude." Shigure barked.

Mimi turned away from him and wiped her eyes then said "Fine; now would you please go. I really don't have the time to deal with your shit at the moment and honestly I don't want to anymore. So you go on playing happy families and leave me alone."

Mimi picked up another handful of clothes and was about to put them into the suitcase when Shigure knocked them out of her hands.

"No! I am sick of your attitude towards me and we are going to have it out. Don't blame me because you're not happy. The only person you should blame is yourself. In all the time I've known you; it has always been you that has stopped yourself from being happy. I think deep down you don't want to be happy. Then there would be no drama and you wouldn't be the centre of attention." Shigure said to Mimi in frustration.
